Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Isolated anti-IL-12 antibodies, nucleic acids encoding antibodies or antibody portions, vectors, host cells, and methods of making are useful for production of antibody or portions for treating and/or diagnosing IL-12 related conditions, diseases, and disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A method for reducing symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus in an animal, comprising administering to said animal (i) a composition comprising an effective amount of an isolated anti-IL-12 antibody comprising a heavy chain variable region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 7 and a light chain variable region of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 8, and (ii) a composition comprising an effective amount of an anti-rheumatic. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said effective amount of antibody is 0.001-50 mg/kilogram of said animal. 3. A method for reducing symptoms of systemic lupus erythematosus in an animal, comprising administering to said animal (i) a composition comprising an effective amount of an isolated anti-IL-12 antibody comprising a heavy chain complementarity determining region CDR 1 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, a heavy chain CDR2 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, a heavy chain CDR3 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 3, a light chain CDR1 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 4, a light chain CDR2 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 5, and a light chain CDR3 of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 6, and (ii) a composition comprising an effective amount of an anti-rheumatic. 4. The method of claim 3 , wherein said effective amount of antibody is 0.001-50 mg/kilogram of said animal.
