A display is provided. The display device includes a display area and a non-display area located around the display area; a base layer; an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) that is located on the base layer in the display area; and a first crack detection line that is located on the base layer in the non-display area; wherein the first crack detection line comprises a first line that extends substantially in a first direction along a first edge of the display area, a second line that is separated from the first line and extends substantially in the first direction, and a third line that is connected to an end of the first line and an end of the second line, wherein a cross-sectional shape of the first line in a second direction crossing the first direction is inversely tapered.

What is claimed is: 1. A display device comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area; a metal pattern located on the substrate in the non-display area; a display element layer disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of display elements in the display area; and a dam disposed between the display area and the metal pattern, wherein the metal pattern includes a first surface facing the substrate and a second surface opposite to the first surface, wherein the first surface of the metal pattern has a first width measured in a first direction parallel to a surface of the substrate, wherein the second surface of the metal pattern has a second width measured in the first direction, wherein the metal pattern further includes a region where a third width measured along the first direction decreases along a second direction perpendicular to the surface of the substrate, wherein the region of the metal pattern is disposed between the lower surface of the metal pattern and the upper surface of the metal pattern, wherein the third width is narrower than the first width and the second width, wherein the display element layer comprises: a thin-film transistor that is located on the substrate in the display area; an insulating layer that is located on the thin-film transistor; and a pixel defining layer that is located on the insulating layer and comprises an opening, a first electrode that is located on the insulating layer, electrically connected to the thin-film transistor and at least partially exposed through the opening, a light emitting layer that is located on the first electrode, and a second electrode that is located on the light emitting layer, and wherein the metal pattern is made of the same material as a source electrode of the thin-film transistor. 2. The display device of claim 1 , further comprising an insulating layer disposed on the display element layer, wherein the insulating layer is disconnected by the metal pattern in the non-display area. 3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the metal pattern has a triple layer structure, wherein the triple layer structure comprises a first layer, a second layer and a third layer, wherein the first layer, the second layer and the third layer are sequentially stacked, wherein the first layer comprises Ti or Mo, wherein the second layer comprises one of Al, Ag, and Cu, and wherein the third layer comprises Ti or Mo. 4. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the dam comprises a first pattern which is made of the same material as the insulating layer and a second pattern that is located on the first pattern and made of the same material as the pixel defining layer. 5. A display device comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area; a metal pattern located on the substrate in the non-display area; a display element layer disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of display elements in the display area; a dam disposed between the display area and the metal pattern; and a power supply line located on the substrate in the non-display area, wherein the metal pattern includes a first surface facing the substrate and a second surface opposite to the first surface, wherein the first surface of the metal pattern has a first width measured in a first direction parallel to a surface of the substrate, wherein the second surface of the metal pattern has a second width measured in the first direction, wherein the metal pattern further includes a region where a third width measured along the first direction decreases along a second direction perpendicular to the surface of the substrate, wherein the region of the metal pattern is disposed between the lower surface of the metal pattern and the upper surface of the metal pattern, wherein the third width is narrower than the first width and the second width, and wherein the metal pattern is made of the same material as the power supply line. 6. A display device, comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area; a metal pattern located on the substrate in the non-display area; a display element layer disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of display elements in the display area; a dam disposed between the display area and the metal pattern; wherein the metal pattern includes a first surface facing the substrate, a second surface opposite to the first surface and a side surface connected to the first surface and the second surface, wherein the second surface includes a first portion which does not overlap the side surface of the metal pattern in a first direction perpendicular to the surface of the substrate and a second portion which overlaps the side surface of the metal pattern in the first direction, and wherein the second portion of the second surface of the metal pattern overlaps the first surface of the metal pattern in the first direction. 7. The display device of claim 6 , wherein the side surface of the metal pattern includes a curved surface. 8. The display device of claim 6 , wherein the first portion of the second surface of the metal pattern is protruded outwardly than the first surface of the metal pattern in a cross-sectional view. 9. A display device, comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area; a metal pattern located on the substrate in the non-display area; a display element layer disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of display elements in the display area; and a dam disposed between the display area and the metal pattern; wherein a cross-sectional shape of the metal pattern is a mush-room like shape. 10. The display device of claim 9 , wherein the metal pattern includes a first surface facing the substrate and a second surface opposite to the first surface, wherein the first surface of the metal pattern has a first width measured in a first direction parallel to a surface of the substrate, wherein the second surface of the metal pattern has a second width measured in the first direction, wherein the metal pattern further includes a region where a third width measured along the first direction decreases along a second direction perpendicular to the surface of the substrate, wherein the region of the metal pattern is disposed between the lower surface of the metal pattern and the upper surface of the metal pattern, and wherein the third width is narrower than the first width and the second width. 11. The display device of claim 10 , further comprising an insulating layer disposed on the display element layer, wherein the insulating layer is disconnected by the metal pattern in the non-display area. 12. The display device of claim 11 , wherein the insulating layer includes an inorganic insulating material. 13. A display device, comprising: a substrate including a display area and a non-display area; a metal pattern located on the substrate in the non-display area; a display element layer disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of display elements in the display area; a dam disposed between the display area and the metal pattern; wherein the metal pattern includes a first surface facing the substrate, a second surface opposite to the first surface and a side surface connected to the first surface and the second surface, wherein the side surface includes a portion recessed inwardly, and wherein the portion of side surface overlaps the first surface of the metal pattern and the second surface of the metal pattern in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the substrate. 14.
