Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A craps gaming system is described including a craps table and a plurality of consoles. The craps table includes a dealer console configured to control play at the craps table and a shooter console configured to enable a shooter to place bets while also being a shooter. A plurality of player consoles located in close proximity to the craps table and connected over a network to the dealer console and the shooter console each include a display having a graphical user interface and a mechanism for receiving money or credits from a player. The dealer console communicates with each player console and generates a list of players eligible to be the shooter. When a player accepts of an invitation to be the shooter, the dealer console causes the network to mirror the graphical user interface and associated content from an accepting player's player console among the plurality of player consoles to the shooter console.

What is claimed is: 1. A craps gaming system, comprising: a craps table having a dealer's console configured to control play at the craps table and a shooter's console, configured to enable a shooter to place bets while also being a shooter, wherein the craps tables includes a dice area and one or more sensors configured to sense when dice are added to the dice area and when dice are removed from the dice area; a plurality of player consoles located in close proximity to the craps table and connected over a network to the dealer's console and the shooter's console, each player console among the plurality of player consoles including a display having a graphical user interface and a mechanism for receiving money or credits from a player, wherein the dealer's console is further configured to communicate with each player console and to provide a list of eligible players to be the shooter at the start of a craps game at the craps table or when a prior shooter has crapped out of the craps game, wherein the dealer's console is further configured to send an invitation to an eligible player to be the shooter and upon acceptance of the invitation from the eligible player to cause the network to mirror the graphical user interface and associated content from an accepting player's player console among the plurality of player consoles to the shooter's console. 2. The craps gaming system as recited in claim 1 , wherein the accepting player's player console is disabled while the accepting player's player console is mirrored to the shooter's console. 3. The craps gaming system as recited in claim 2 , wherein when the accepting player is no longer the shooter, the accepting player's player console is enabled and the network stops mirroring the graphical user interface and associated content from the prior accepting player's player console. 4. The craps gaming system as recited in claim 1 , wherein when the invitation sent to the eligible player is declined the dealer's console is configured to automatically send the invitation to a next eligible player on the list of eligible players. 5. The craps gaming system as recited in claim 1 , wherein the eligible player's player console is configured to generate a popup message on a display of the eligible player's player console in response to the invitation. 6. The craps gaming system as recited in claim 5 , wherein the graphical user interface of the eligible player's player console includes an accept button and a decline button. 7. A craps gaming system comprising: a craps table having: a dealer's console configured to control play at the craps table, a shooter's console configured to enable a shooter to place bets while also being a shooter, and a dice area and one or more sensors configured to sense when dice are added to the dice area and when dice are removed from the dice area, wherein the one or more sensors are connected to the network and are configured to produce a signal when dice are removed from the dice area to at least the shooter's console and the plurality of player consoles disabling further bets on the shooter's console and the plurality of player consoles; and a plurality of player consoles located in close proximity to the craps table and connected over a network to the dealer's console and the shooter's console, each player console among the plurality of player consoles including a display having a graphical user interface and a mechanism for receiving money or credits from a player, wherein the dealer's console is further configured to communicate with each player console and to provide a list of eligible players to be the shooter at the start of a craps game at the craps table or when a prior shooter has crapped out of the craps game, wherein the dealer's console is further configured to send an invitation to an eligible player to be the shooter and upon acceptance of the invitation from the eligible player to cause the network to mirror the graphical user interface and associated content from an accepting player's player console among the plurality of player consoles to the shooter's console. 8. A method for switching shooters for a craps gaming system, comprising: (a) determining a list of eligible players among players at a plurality of player consoles network connected to a dealer's console associated with a craps table, wherein the determination is made at the start of a craps game at the craps table or after a prior player operating as a shooter at the craps games has crapped out, and wherein the craps tables includes a dice area and one or more sensors configured to sense when dice are added to the dice area and when dice are removed from the dice area; (b) sending an invitation to an eligible player on the list of eligible players to become the shooter; (c) when the invitation to the eligible player is accepted, mirroring a graphical user interface and associated content displayed at the accepting player's player console to a shooter's console connected to the network and associated with the craps table, wherein the shooter's console enables the shooter to place bets on the craps game, and wherein the accepting player's player console is disabled while the accepting player is the shooter; (d) when the invitation to the eligible player is declined, automatically sending the invitation to a next eligible player on the list of eligible players until the invitation is accepted; and when the accepting player has crapped out as the shooter, stopping the mirroring of the graphical user interface and associated content from the accepting player's player console and enabling the accepting player's player console, then and repeating steps (b)-(d) until the next eligible player has accepted the invitation and been made the shooter. 9. The method as recited in claim 8 , wherein the eligible player's player console is configured to generate a popup message on a display of the eligible player's player console in response to the invitation. 10. The method as recited in claim 9 , wherein the graphical user interface of the eligible player's console is configured to enable the eligible player to accept or decline the invitation. 11. The method as recited in claim 10 , wherein the dealer's console is configured to generate a message on a display of the dealer's console indicating whether each invitation has been accepted or declined. 12. The method as recited in claim 10 , wherein the graphical user interface includes an accept button and a decline button. 13. A method for switching shooters for a craps gaming system, comprising: (a) determining a list of eligible players among players at a plurality of player consoles network connected to a dealer's console associated with a craps table, wherein the determination is made at the start of a craps game at the craps table or after a prior player operating as a shooter at the craps games has crapped out; (b) determining with one or more sensors configured to sense when dice are added to a dice area and when the dice are removed from the dice area; and (c) sending an invitation to an eligible player on the list of eligible players to become the shooter; (d) when the invitation to the eligible player is accepted, mirroring a graphical user interface and associated content displayed at the accepting player's player console to a shooter's console connected to the network and associated with the craps table, wherein the shooter's console enables the shooter to place bets on the craps game, and wherein the accepting player's player console is disabled while the accepting player is the shooter; (e) disabling the shooter's console and the plurality of player consoles from
