A process for producing an aromatic compound in high yield and a palladium complex are provided. The palladium complex is represented by formula (D) or formula (D′):In formula (D), X represents a chlorine atom, A represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, B represents an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 10 carbon atoms, R4 and R5 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, or an alkoxy group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, and R6, R7 and R8 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms or a heteroaryl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms.In formula (D′), X, A, B and R4 to R8 are the same as defined above.

The invention claimed is: 1. A palladium complex represented by the formula (D) or the formula (D′): wherein, X represents a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or an iodine atom, A represents an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, B represents an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having 5 to 10 carbon atoms, R 4 and R 5 each represent a hydrogen atom, R 7 represents a hydrogen atom and R 6 and R 8 each represent a t-butyl group; wherein the plurality of X, A, B and R 4 to R 8 may be the same or different at each occurrence. 2. The palladium complex according to claim 1 , wherein A is a methyl group. 3. The palladium complex according to claim 1 , wherein B is an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms. 4. The palladium complex according to claim 3 , wherein B is an alkyl group having 4 to 6 carbon atoms. 5. The palladium complex according to claim 4 , wherein B is a tert-butyl group.
