Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present disclosure relates to a flexible cover strip for a storage system including a carrier rail ( 1 ) having a U-shaped cross section with first and second parallel rows ( 3, 5 ) of elongated substantially identical slots ( 7 ) in a front portion to accommodate a suspension element such as e.g. a bracket. The cover strip has an abutment face ( 17 ) and an exterior face ( 31 ), and a plurality of projections ( 19 ), rising from the abutment surface of the strip in first and second parallel rows matching the slots of the carrier rail, such that the cover strip can be fitted on the front portion with the projections entering the slots, and wherein at least some of the projections are provided with a snap element ( 27 ) at their distal ends, which snap elements prevent the cover strip from falling off the rail.

First claim

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for producing a flexible cover strip in an elastomer material, the method comprising: extruding a strip of elastomer material, the strip having first and second sides and a longitudinal center axis extending along a length of the strip, the strip further comprising first and second ridges extending from a flat surface on the first side of the strip and parallel to the longitudinal center axis; and cutting the ridges transversally with respect to the length of the strip to provide pairs of projections with intervening spaces along the length of the strip. 2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the extruding creates a longitudinal tear line cut in the flat surface along the longitudinal center axis and the cutting further comprises cutting transversal tear lines surface between adjacent pairs of projections. 3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the elastomer material is soft PPE, PP-R or PVC. 4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the cover strip is produced in a single piece. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the elastomer material is comprised of PPE, PP-R or PVC. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the projections rise obliquely from the flat surface. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein a face of the second side of the strip is convex, providing a curvature along the length of the cover strip. 8. A method for producing a flexible cover strip in an elastomer material, the method comprising: extruding a strip having first and second sides and a longitudinal center axis extending along a length of the strip, the strip comprising first and second ridges extending from a flat surface on the first side of the strip parallel to the longitudinal center axis; cutting the ridges transversally with respect to the length of the strip to provide pairs of projections with intervening spaces along the longitudinal center axis of the strip; and cutting transversal tear lines in the flat surface between adjacent pairs of projections. 9. The method according to claim 8 , further comprising creating a longitudinal tear line cut in the flat surface along the longitudinal center axis. 10. The method according to claim 8 , wherein the elastomer material is soft PPE, PP-R or PVC. 11. The method of claim 10 , wherein a face of the second side of the strip is convex, providing a cross-sectional curvature along the longitudinal center axis of the cover strip. 12. The method of claim 8 , wherein the projections rise obliquely from the flat surface.
