An adapter for rack-mounted computing equipment, the adapter comprising: a chassis; two mounts coupled to the chassis, each of the two mounts having a respective hole shaped to receive and support rack-mountable computing equipment, wherein centers of the holes are between 460 and 470 mm (millimeters) apart from one another in a side-to-side direction of the chassis; two members extending from front of the chassis, the two members being less than 18 mm tall and being between 530 and 550 mm apart in the side-to-side direction; a channel extending at least half a distance along the chassis in a front-to-back direction, the channel defining a volume configured to hold cables extending from a back side of the chassis to a front side of the chassis; and a bus-bar connector mount configured to position a bus-bar connector extending from a back of the chassis. 2. The adaptor of claim 1 , comprising: means for providing front-side data access; means for providing back-side power. 3. The adaptor of claim 1 , comprising: means for providing power from the bus-bar connector to the rack-mounted computing equipment. 4. The adaptor of claim 1 , wherein the two channels span an interior volume configured to receive a 19-inch server. 5. The adaptor of claim 1 , wherein the two mounts are operable to secure a 19-inch server. 6. The adaptor of claim 5 , wherein the two channels and a bottom of the chassis form an interior volume configured to receive the server. 7. The adapter of claim 1 , wherein: the channel comprises a face plate configured to receive at least two different kinds of connectors at a front of the chassis. 8. The adapter of claim 1 , wherein: the channel comprises means to receive at least two different kinds of connectors at a front of the chassis. 9. The adapter of claim 1 , further comprising: disposed, at a front of the chassis, a patch panel configured to receive: a first cable, from within the channel, that extends from the back side of the chassis to the front side of the chassis, and at least two different kinds of connectors at a front of the chassis, wherein the patch panel is configured to couple, via the first cable, a first connector to a rack-mounted computing equipment received by the adaptor. 10. The system of claim 1 , wherein: the channel comprises a face plate configured to receive at least two different kinds of connectors at a front of the chassis. 11. The system of claim 1 , wherein: the channel comprises means to receive to at least two different kinds of connectors at a front of the chassis. 12. The system of claim 1 , wherein the adaptor chassis further comprises: disposed, at a front of the chassis, a patch panel configured to receive: a first cable, from within the channel, that extends from the back side of the chassis to the front side of the chassis, and at least two different kinds of connectors at a front of the chassis, wherein the patch panel is configured to couple, via the first cable, a first connector to the second rack-mounted computing device received by the adaptor chassis. 13. The system of claim 1 , wherein the bus-bar connector is configured to be secured to the bus-bar connector mount, and the bus-bar connector is configured to provide a power connection to the second rack-mounted computing device through the mating with a respective one of the at least one bus-bar of the rack. 14. A system comprising: a rack for holding computing equipment, the rack comprising: two or more receptables configured to hold first rack-mountable computing devices having first exterior dimensions compatible with interior dimensions of the receptacles, a front of the rack from which first rack-mountable computing devices compatible with the interior dimensions of receptables are inserted into or removed from the receptacles, and a rear of the rack having at least one bus-bar coupled to a power supply and configured to provide power to first rack-mountable computing devices inserted into the receptables; an adaptor chassis, having at least two of the first exterior dimensions compatible with the interior dimensions of the receptacles, configured to receive a second rack-mountable computing device having at least one second exterior dimension less than a corresponding one of the at least two first exterior dimensions, the adaptor chassis comprising: two mounts coupled to the adaptor chassis, each of the two mounts having a respective hole shaped to receive and support the second rack-mountable computing device, wherein centers of the holes are between 460 and 470 mm (millimeters) apart from one another in a side-to-side direction of the adaptor chassis; a channel extending at least half a distance along the adaptor chassis in a front-to-back direction, the channel defining a volume configured to hold cables extending from a back side of the adaptor chassis to a front side of the adaptor chassis; and a bus-bar connector mount configured to position a bus-bar connector extending from a back of the chassis to mate with a respective one of the at least one bus-bar of the rack. 15. The system of claim 14 , the adaptor chassis further comprising: means for providing front-side data access to the second rack-mountable computing device; means for providing back-side power access to the second rack-mountable computing device. 16. The system of claim 14 , the adaptor chassis further comprising: means for providing power from the bus-bar connector to the second rack-mountable computing device. 17. The system of claim 14 , wherein the two channels span an interior volume configured to receive the second rack-mountable computing device. 18. The system of claim 17 , wherein: the second rack-mountable computing device is a 19-inch server and the two mounts are operable to secure the server. 19.
