What is claimed is: 1. An article, comprising: an anodized substrate having an anodic oxide coating, the anodic oxide coating comprising a plurality of cells, each of the plurality of cells defining at least one pore; and a seal consisting of a plurality of nano-sized thiol-containing particles, each of the plurality of nano-sized thiol-containing particles consisting essentially of 5,5-dithiobis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione), and wherein, at least one of the plurality of nano-sized thiol-containing particles is disposed in the at least one pore of the anodic oxide coating, wherein the plurality of cells have a cell diameter from about 50 nm and about 300 nm, wherein the at least one pore has a pore diameter from about ⅓ to about of ½ the cell diameter, and wherein each of the plurality of nano-sized thiol-containing particles disposed in the at least one pore of the anodic oxide coating has a diameter smaller than the pore diameter, and wherein a density of the plurality of cells in the anodic oxide coating is from about 10 per μm 2 to about 100 per μm 2 . 2. The article of claim 1 , wherein the nano-sized thiol-containing particles are configured to react electrochemically to resist corrosion. 3. The article of claim 1 , wherein the seal is formed by applying an aqueous-based suspension on the anodic oxide coating, wherein the aqueous-based suspension comprises the plurality of nano-sized thiol-containing particles. 4. The article of claim 3 , wherein a temperature of the aqueous-based suspension, when it is applied on the anodic oxide coating, is in the range of from about room temperature to about 212° F. 5. The article of claim 4 , wherein the temperature is in the range of from about 68° F. to about 79° F. 6. The article of claim 3 , wherein the aqueous-based suspension comprises 0.2 wt % to 10 wt % of 5,5-dithiobis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione) nano-sized particles in water. 7. The article of claim 6 , wherein the aqueous-based suspension consists of 0.2 wt % to 3 wt % of the 5,5-dithiobis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione) nano-sized particles in the water. 8. The article of claim 1 , wherein the anodized substrate comprises anodized aluminum or an anodized aluminum alloy. 9. An article, comprising: an anodized substrate having an anodic oxide coating layer disposed on a surface of the anodized substrate, wherein the anodic oxide coating layer comprises a plurality of cells, each of the plurality of cells defining at least one pore that extends between the surface of the anodized substrate to an external surface of the anodic oxide coating layer, wherein a density of the plurality of cells in the anodic oxide coating layer is from about 10 perμm 2 to about 100 per μm 2 ; and a non-chrome corrosion-inhibitor seal disposed on the external surface of the anodic oxide coating layer consisting of 5,5-dithiobis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione) disposed within the at least one pore. 10. The article of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of cells have a cell diameter from about 50 nm and about 300 nm, wherein the at least one pore has a pore diameter from about ⅓ to about ½ the cell diameter, and wherein the the non-chrome corrosion-inhibitor seal comprises nano-sized particles and has a diameter smaller than the pore diameter. 11. The article of claim 10 , wherein the nano-sized particles are configured to react electrochemically to resist corrosion. 12. The article of claim 9 , wherein the seal is formed by applying an aqueous-based suspension on the anodic oxide coating, wherein the aqueous-based suspension comprises the non-chrome corrosion-inhibitor. 13. The article of claim 12 , wherein a temperature of the aqueous-based suspension, when it is applied on the anodic oxide coating, is in the range of from about room temperature to about 212° F. 14. The article of claim 13 , wherein the temperature is in the range of from about 68° F. to about 79° F. 15. The article of claim 12 , wherein the aqueous-based suspension comprises 0.2 wt % to 10 wt % of 5,5-dithiobis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione) nano-sized particles in water. 16. The article of claim 15 , wherein the aqueous-based suspension consists of 0.2 wt % to 3 wt % of the 5,5-dithiobis-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2(3H)-thione) nano-sized particles in the water. 17. The article of claim 12 , wherein the seal is formed by applying an aqueous-based suspension on the anodic oxide coating by spray coating. 18. The article of claim 12 , wherein the seal is formed by applying an aqueous-based suspension on the anodic oxide coating by immersing the anodized substrate in the aqueous-based suspension. 19. The article of claim 3 , wherein the seal is formed by applying an aqueous-based suspension on the anodic oxide coating by spray coating. 20. The article of claim 9 , wherein the anodized substrate comprises anodized aluminum or an anodized aluminum alloy.
