The invention also relates to an easy opening arrangement for packaged products, and to an array or bandoleer of products with reduced packaging material.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. An array of products, comprising: products that have an elongated form and extend parallel to each other, wherein the array comprises two films which are sealed together and enclose said products, wherein one film is substantially flat and the other film is shaped to fit at least partially around the products, wherein parts of the sealed films extending from outer ends of the products are bent out of the plane of the flat film and bonded to the other, shaped film, wherein said other, shaped film comprises a cold seal area that includes a score and a U-shaped cut that intersects said score. 2. The array of claim 1 , wherein the shaped film has a substantially corrugated form in the direction transverse to the products, wherein the flat film is sealed to the ridges of the corrugated film that extend on one side of the products. 3. The array of claim 2 , wherein the bent parts of the sealed films are bonded to the ridges of the corrugated film that extend away from the flat film. 4. The array of claim 2 , wherein the bent parts of the sealed films are folded twice to form sharp perpendicular angles, once near the plane of the flat film, and once near the plane through the ridges to which the sealed films are bonded. 5. The array of claim 1 , wherein the bent parts of the sealed films are folded close to the outer ends of the products. 6. The array of claim 2 , wherein the bent parts of the sealed films are bonded to said ridges near the outer ends of the products. 7. The array of claim 2 , wherein the seals between the flat film and the ridges of the corrugated film that extend on one side of the products are weakened, such that the products can be easily separated. 8. The array of claim 1 , wherein the products are positioned transversely with respect to the films. 9. An array of products comprising: a bottom flat film and a top shaped film sealed to the flat film transversely between the products and longitudinally at the ends of the films, wherein the top shaped film comprises a cold seal area having a score and a U-shaped cut that intersects said score, wherein the sealed longitudinal ends of the films are folded upwards at or near outer bottom edges of the products and are folded over, and sealed to, the cold seal area.
