Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A tracking system includes a set of cameras, a kiosk, and a tracking server. The kiosk receives a payment amount from a person. The tracking server extracts features of the person from an image feed received from the set of cameras. The tracking server generates a session identifier that is associated with the payment amount and a unique code. The unique code represents at least one of the payment amount and features of the person. The tracking server sends a message to the kiosk to provide a ticket corresponding to the payment amount and the unique code to the person. The tracking server receives a digital cart associated with the person comprising items and a total cash value of the items. The tracking server concludes a transaction by deducting the total cash value from the payment amount.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1. A system comprising: a first set of cameras associated with a physical store, configured to capture images; a kiosk comprising a first processor configured to receive a payment amount from a person; and a tracking server operably coupled with the first set of cameras and the kiosk, the tracking server comprising a second processor configured to: generate a session identifier, wherein: the session identifier is associated with the payment amount; and the session identifier is further associated with a unique code; send a message to the kiosk to provide a ticket corresponding to the payment amount and the unique code to the person; receive a digital cart associated with the person, wherein the digital cart comprises a plurality of items and a total cash value of the plurality of items; determine whether the total cash value of the plurality of items is less than or equal to the payment amount associated with the ticket; if it is determined that the total cash value of the plurality of items is more than the payment amount, request the person to remove one or more items from the plurality of items until the total cash value is less than or equal to the payment amount; and if it is determined that the total cash value of the plurality of items is less than or equal to the payment amount, conclude a transaction by deducting the total cash value from the payment amount. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein: the payment amount comprises at least one of an amount of cash and an electronic payment; and the electronic payment that is associated with a digital wallet of the person. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein: the ticket comprises an electronic ticket that is stored in a digital wallet associated with an electronic device; and the first processor is further configured to communicate the electronic ticket to the electronic device associated with the person. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein: the ticket comprises a physical ticket; and the first processor is further configured to dispense the physical ticket. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the second processor is further configured to: receive a scan of the ticket from a turnstile gate at an entrance of the physical store; and in response to receiving the scan of the ticket from the turnstile gate, open the turnstile gate for the person. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the second processor is further configured to: receive, from the first set of cameras, a first image feed showing the person; and extract, from the first image feed, features of the person comprising at least one of facial features and pose estimations, wherein the features of the person are extracted at the kiosk or at a turnstile gate at an entrance of the store. 7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the unique code comprises at least one of a scannable code and a representation of the extracted features. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the second processor is further configured to: receive a scan of the ticket at a check-out location inside the physical store; and in response to receiving the scan of the ticket at the check-out location, conclude the transaction by deducting the total cash value from the payment amount. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein: the second processor is further configured to: determine whether there is change remaining from the transaction; in response to determining that there is change remaining from the transaction: calculate the change corresponding to a difference between the total cash value of the plurality of items and the payment amount; and associate the change to the ticket; the first processor is further configured to: receive a scan of the ticket; and in response to receiving the scan of the ticket, dispense the change to the person. 10. A system comprising: a first set of cameras associated with a physical store, configured to capture images showing a region around a kiosk; a tracking server operably coupled with the first set of cameras and the kiosk, the tracking server comprising a first processor configured to: receive, from the first set of cameras, a first image feed showing a person in the region; extract, from the first image feed, features of the person at the kiosk comprising at least one of facial features and pose estimations; the kiosk comprising a second processor configured to receive a payment amount from the person; the first processor is further configured to: generate a session identifier, wherein: the session identifier is associated with the payment amount; and the session identifier is further associated with the extracted features of the person; identify the person based at least in part upon the extracted features of the person at a turnstile gate at an entrance of the store; receive a digital cart associated with the person, wherein the digital cart comprises a plurality of items and a total cash value of the plurality of items; determine whether the total cash value of the plurality of items is less than or equal to the payment amount associated with the session identifier; if it is determined that the total cash value of the plurality of items is more than the payment amount, request the person to remove one or more items from the plurality of items until the total cash value is less than or equal to the payment amount; and if it is determined that the total cash value of the plurality of items is less than or equal to the payment amount, conclude a transaction by deducting the total cash value from the payment amount. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein: the payment amount comprises at least one of an amount of cash and an electronic payment; and the electronic payment is associated with a digital wallet of the person. 12. The system of claim 10 , wherein identifying the person at the turnstile gate comprises: extracting features of the person at the turnstile gate to determine whether there is a session identifier that has already associated to features of the person extracted at the turnstile gate; and in response to determining that there is a session identifier that has already associated to features of the person extracted at the turnstile gate, associating features of the person extracted at the turnstile gate to the session identifier. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the first processor is further configured to: identify, based at least in part upon the extracted features, the person at a check-out location inside the physical store; and in response to identifying the person at the check-out location, conclude the transaction by deducting the total cash value from the payment amount. 14. The system of claim 12 , wherein: the first processor is further configured to: identify, based at least in part upon the extracted features, the person at the kiosk; send instructions to the kiosk to dispense the change to the person; and the second processor is further configured to dispense the change to the person. 15. The system of claim 10 , further comprising a second kiosk operably coupled with the tracking server; and the first processor is further configured to identify, based at least in part upon the extracted features, the person at the second kiosk; the second kiosk comprising a third processor configured to: receive an additional payment amount; and the first processor is further configured to associate the additional payment amount to the session identifier. 16. The system of claim 10 , further comprising a second set of cameras associated with the physical store, conf
