A print module includes: a cradle defining a longitudinal cavity; an elongate printhead received in the longitudinal cavity, the printhead having a row of printhead contacts; a PCB slidably movable relative to the cradle along a first axis perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the printhead; and an actuator handle. The actuator handle is configured for reciprocally lowering and raising the PCB and urging the PCB contacts into engagement with the printhead contacts, thereby forming electrical connections between the PCB and the printhead. The PCB electrical contacts are urged along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis and the longitudinal axis of the printhead.

The invention claimed is: 1. A print module comprising: a cradle defining a longitudinal cavity; an elongate printhead received in the longitudinal cavity, the printhead having at least one row of printhead contacts; at least one PCB linearly slidably movable relative to the cradle along a first axis perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the printhead, the PCB having PCB contacts; at least one actuator handle configured for: reciprocally lowering and raising the PCB, in a first motion, towards and away from the printhead along the first axis; and urging the PCB contacts, in a separate second motion, into engagement with the printhead contacts, thereby forming electrical connections between the PCB and the printhead, wherein the PCB electrical contacts are urged along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis and the longitudinal axis of the printhead. 2. The print module of claim 1 further comprising one or more ink couplings fast with the PCB. 3. The print module of claim 2 , wherein the ink couplings are connected to or disconnected from the printhead via lowering or raising of the PCB. 4. The print module of claim 1 , wherein the actuator handle is operatively connected to a lift mechanism for lowering and raising the PCB. 5. The print module of claim 4 , wherein the lift mechanism comprises: an elongate lever shaft extending longitudinally along a side of the print module, the lever shaft having the first actuator handle fixedly mounted to a first end thereof; and a pair of cam levers fixedly mounted to the lever shaft, each cam lever being engaged with a respective spigot fast with the PCB. 6. The print module of claim 4 , wherein the lift mechanism comprises: a scissor mechanism operatively connected to a pair of lift rods at opposite ends of the print module, the scissor mechanism having a scissor arm connected to the actuator handle, wherein each lift rod is engaged with the supply assembly. 7. The print module of claim 6 , wherein each lift rod is received in a respective sleeve of the supply assembly. 8. The print module of claim 1 , further comprising a clamping mechanism for clamping the PCB contacts against the printhead contacts. 9. The print module of claim 8 , wherein the PCB is fastened to a PCB mounting plate having a resilient flange aligned with the PCB contacts, the clamping mechanism being configured for urging against the resilient flange. 10. The print module of claim 9 , wherein the clamping mechanism comprises a rotatable clamp rod configured for camming engagement with the resilient flange. 11. The print module of claim 10 , wherein the clamp rod comprises a longitudinal cutout section. 12. The print module of claim 9 , wherein the clamping mechanism comprises: a slide plate having one or more clamps engaged with complementary cam projections of the resilient flange; and a slide actuator for longitudinally sliding the slide plate along a third axis perpendicular to both the first and second axes. 13. The print module of claim 1 , wherein the PCB is a first PCB and the print module further comprises a second PCB opposing the first PCB, each of the first and second PCBs having respective PCB contacts for electrical connection to corresponding first and second opposite rows of printhead contacts. 14. The print module of claim 13 , wherein the first and second PCBs are simultaneously movable along the first axis via actuation of the actuator handle. 15. The print module of claim 13 , wherein the first and second PCBs are independently or concertedly movable towards each other along the second axis.
