A child containment system has a child containment structure with a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom. A bassinet has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface. The bassinet can be mounted to the child containment structure with the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure. An infant support unit can have a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and legs that extend from one end of the infant support unit to the distal second end. The infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which the infant support unit at least partially positioned within the child containment structure with the bed overlying the bassinet's infant support surface, and with a portion of the legs contacting the bassinet's infant support surface.

What is claimed is: 1. A child containment system comprising: a child containment structure comprising a bottom and a perimeter wall, wherein the bottom and perimeter wall define a child containment enclosure; a bassinet comprising an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface, wherein the bassinet is removably mounted to the child containment structure with at least a portion of the surrounding wall supported by an upper edge of the perimeter wall of the child containment structure with one or more legs of the infant support surface elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure; an infant support unit having a first end and a distal second end, the infant support unit comprising: a frame; a bed supported by at least a portion of the frame and comprising a head end disposed along the first end of the infant support unit and an opposing foot end disposed along the second end of the infant support unit; a first stand coupled to the frame and extending from the first end to the second end of the infant support unit; and a second stand coupled to the frame and extending from the second end to the first end of the infant support unit, wherein the first stand and the second stand provide an upright rigid structure supported by the first end and the second end; and a changing table overlying a first portion of the infant support surface of the bassinet and removably coupled to the perimeter wall of the child containment structure, wherein the infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which at least a portion of the infant support unit including the first stand and the second stand is disposed within the child containment enclosure, with the bed of the infant support unit overlying a second portion of the infant support surface of the bassinet. 2. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of each of the first stand and the second stand contacts a top surface of the infant support surface of the bassinet in the first operational mode. 3. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of each of the first stand and the second stand is disposed below the bed. 4. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein the bassinet comprises a plurality of mounting devices, wherein each of the plurality of mounting devices is removably coupled to the perimeter wall of the child containment structure. 5. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises a first frame portion adjacent the head end of the bed and a second frame portion adjacent the foot end of the bed, wherein the first stand extends from the first frame portion to the second frame portion and wherein the second stand extends from the second frame portion to the first frame portion. 6. The child containment system of claim 5 , wherein at least a portion of the first stand extends along a first lateral side of the infant support unit and wherein at least a portion of the second stand extends along a second lateral side of the infant support unit opposite the first lateral side. 7. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein the changing table is inserted into the bassinet. 8. The child containment system of claim 7 , wherein the changing table occupies half of the area provided by the bassinet. 9. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the first stand and at least a portion of the second stand are curved. 10. The child containment system of claim 1 , wherein the first stand and the second stand of the infant support unit are configured to support the bed suspended above a surface in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is not within the child containment enclosure. 11. A child containment system comprising: a child containment structure comprising a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom, wherein the bottom and perimeter wall define a child containment enclosure; a bassinet comprising an infant support surface with one or more legs elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure with at least a portion of the bassinet supported by an upper edge of the perimeter wall of the child containment structure; an infant support unit having a first end and a distal second end, the infant support unit comprising: a frame; and a bed supported by at least a portion of the frame and comprising a head end disposed along the first end of the infant support unit and an opposing foot end disposed along the second end of the infant support unit; a first stand coupled to the infant support unit and extending from the first end to the second end; a second stand coupled to the infant support unit and extending from the second end to the first end, wherein the first stand and the second stand provide an upright rigid structure supported by the first end and the second end; and a changing table overlying a first portion of the infant support surface of the bassinet and removably coupled to the perimeter wall of the child containment structure, wherein the infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which at least a portion of the infant support unit, the first stand, and the second stand are disposed within the child containment enclosure, with the bed of the infant support unit overlying a second portion of the infant support surface of the bassinet. 12. The child containment system of claim 11 , wherein the changing table is inserted into the bassinet. 13. The child containment system of claim 12 , wherein the changing table occupies half of the area provided by the bassinet. 14. A child containment system comprising: a child containment structure comprising a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom; a bassinet comprising an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the infant support surface, the bassinet configured to be removably mounted to the child containment structure with at least a portion of the surrounding wall supported by an upper edge of the perimeter wall of the child containment structure with the infant support surface and one or more legs elevated above the bottom of the child containment structure; an infant support unit comprising: a frame comprising a first end and a distal second end; a bed supported by at least a portion of the frame and comprising a head end disposed along the first end of the frame and an opposing foot end disposed along the second end of the frame; a first stand coupled to the frame and comprising a first stand end coupled to the first end of the frame and a distal second first stand end coupled to the second end of the frame; and a second stand coupled to the frame and comprising a first second stand end coupled to the first end of the frame and a distal second stand end coupled to the second end of the frame, wherein the first stand and the second stand provide an upright rigid structure supported by the first end and the second end; and a changing table overlying a first portion of the infant support surface of the bassinet and removably coupled to the perimeter wall of the child containment structure, wherein the infant support unit is configured for use in a first operational mode in which at least a portion of the infant support unit including the first stand and the second stand is disposed within the child containment enclosure, with the bed of the infant support unit overlying a second portion of the infant support surface of the bassinet. 15.
