Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

An apparatus includes a memory configured to store configuration information related to a physical machine and a virtual machine that operates on the physical machine, and temporal information indicating a time turnaround for migration of the virtual machine from the physical machine to another physical machine. Upon acquisition of data indicating a duration of a maintenance execution related to a physical machine, the apparatus produces, based on the configuration information and the temporal information stored in the memory, a constraint condition for the virtual machine that operates on the physical machine, where the constraint condition is used to determine a schedule of the migration. The apparatus produces schedule information of the migration, based on the constraint condition and the duration of the maintenance execution, and outputs the schedule information to a device used by a user of the virtual machine.

What is claimed is: 1. A non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium having stored therein a program for causing a computer to execute a process, the process comprising: upon acquisition of data indicating a duration of a maintenance execution related to a physical machine, producing a first constraint condition for a virtual machine operating on the physical machine based on configuration information related to the physical machine and the virtual machine and temporal information indicating a turnaround time for migration of the virtual machine from the physical machine to another physical machine, the first constraint condition including a condition that a sum of turnaround times for a migration of a plurality of virtual machines is minimized; producing schedule information of the migration of the virtual machine, based on the first constraint condition and the duration of the maintenance execution; and outputting the schedule information to a device used by a user of the virtual machine, the process further comprising: acquiring, from the user in response to the output schedule information, data indicating an allowed time slot of the migration of the virtual machine, reproducing the first constraint condition based on the allowed time slot, reproducing the schedule information based on the reproduced first constraint condition, and outputting the reproduced schedule information to the device. 2. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein in the outputting the schedule information, information indicating a load on the virtual machine predicted for each time slot included in the schedule information is output to the device together with the schedule information. 3. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein the temporal information further includes information indicating the turnaround time for the migration of each virtual machine at each time slot belonging to the duration of the maintenance execution. 4. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein, in the producing the schedule information, a duration in which maintenance is performed on the physical machine is determined based on a maintenance turnaround time of the physical machine. 5. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein producing a second constraint condition that each virtual machine belonging to a first group of virtual machines included in the configuration information is operated on an identical physical machine, and producing the schedule information based on the first constraint condition and the second constraint condition, such that a migration destination of each virtual machine belonging to the first group is set to an identical physical machine. 6. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein producing a third constraint condition that each virtual machine belonging to a second group of virtual machines included in the configuration information is operated on a separate physical machine, and producing the schedule information based on the first constraint condition and the third constraint condition such that a migration destination of each virtual machine belonging to the second group is set to a separate physical machine based on the second constraint condition. 7. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , the process further comprising: instructing execution of the migration of the virtual machine to the another physical machine based on the produced schedule information. 8. The non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium according to claim 1 , wherein the turnaround time for the migration of the virtual machine is a turnaround time for live migration. 9. An apparatus comprising: a memory configured to store configuration information related to a physical machine and a virtual machine that operates on the physical machine, and temporal information indicating a turnaround time for migration of the virtual machine from the physical machine to another physical machine; and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to: upon acquisition of data indicating a duration of a maintenance execution related to the physical machine, produce, based on the configuration information and the temporal information stored in the memory, a constraint condition for the virtual machine that operates on the physical machine, the constraint condition including a condition that a sum of turnaround times for a migration of a plurality of virtual machines is minimized; produce schedule information of the migration of the virtual machine, based on the first constraint condition and the duration of the maintenance execution; and output the schedule information to a device used by a user of the virtual machine; acquire, from the user in response to the output schedule information, data indicating an allowed time slot of the migration of the virtual machine; reproduce the first constraint condition based on the allowed time slot; reproduce the schedule information based on the reproduced first constraint condition; and output the reproduced schedule information to the device. 10. A method comprising: upon acquisition of data indicating a duration of a maintenance execution related to a physical machine, producing a constraint condition for a virtual machine operating on the physical machine, based on configuration information related to the physical machine and the virtual machine and temporal information indicating a turnaround time for migration of the virtual machine from the physical machine to another physical machine, the constraint condition including a condition that a sum of turnaround times for a migration of a plurality of virtual machines is minimized; producing schedule information of the migration of the virtual machine, based on the first constraint condition and the duration of the maintenance execution; and outputting the schedule information to a device used by a user of the virtual machine; instructing execution of the migration of the virtual machine to the another physical machine based on the produced schedule information; acquiring, from the user in response to the output schedule information, data indicating an allowed time slot of the migration of the virtual machine; reproducing the first constraint condition based on the allowed time slot; reproducing the schedule information based on the reproduced first constraint condition; and outputting the reproduced schedule information to the device. 11. A non-transitory, computer-readable recording medium having stored therein a program for causing a computer to execute a process, the process comprising: upon acquisition of data indicating a duration of a maintenance execution related to a physical machine, producing a constraint condition for a virtual machine operating on the physical machine based on configuration information related to the physical machine and the virtual machine and temporal information indicating a turnaround time for migration of the virtual machine from the physical machine to another physical machine, the constraint condition including a condition that a sum of turnaround times for a migration of a plurality of virtual machines is minimized; producing schedule information of the migration of the virtual machine, based on the first constraint condition and the duration of the maintenance execution; and outputting the schedule information to a device used by a user of the virtual machine; acquiring, from the user in response to the output schedule
