Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A power tool includes a motor, a switch, a housing, a switching member and a holding member. The housing is a hollow body formed by a first housing part and a second housing part connected with the first housing part. The first housing part has a through hole. The switching member is connected to the switch and includes an operation part exposed outside through the through hole so as to be movable in a specified direction in response to a user's manual operation. The switching member is configured to turn the switch on and off by linearly moving in the specified direction. The holding member is supported by at least one of the first housing part and the second housing part within the housing and configured to hold the switching member between the holding member and the first housing part so as to be linearly movable in the specified direction.

What is claimed is: 1. A power tool configured to drive a tool accessory, the power tool comprising: a motor; a switch for driving and stopping the motor; a housing that houses the motor and the switch, the housing being a hollow body formed by a first housing part and a second housing part connected with the first housing part, the first housing part having a through hole through a wall of the first housing part, the housing has an elongate shape extending in a specified direction and includes: a grip part configured to be held by a user; and a first end part and a second end part respectively connected to opposite sides of the grip part in the specified direction; a switching member connected to the switch, the switching member including an operation part exposed to an outside of the power tool through the through hole so as to be movable in the specified direction in response to a user's manual operation of the operation part and an extending part that extends between the operation part and the switch, the switching member being configured to turn the switch on and off by linearly moving in the specified direction in response to the manual operation of the operation part; a holding member supported by at least one of the first housing part and the second housing part within the housing and configured to directly hold the extending part between the holding member and the first housing part so as to be linearly movable in the specified direction; an illumination device disposed in the first end part and configured to illuminate a working region of the tool accessory; and a wiring for power supply, extending from the second end part and connecting to the illumination device, wherein: the operation part and the extending part are unitary such that the operation part and the extending part move in unison in the specified direction and the operation part cannot move independently of the extending part; the holding member is configured to guide the wiring from the second end part to the first end part; the holding member has a groove formed in a surface facing an inner surface of the housing, and the wiring is held in a housing space defined by the groove and the inner surface of the housing. 2. The power tool as defined in claim 1 , wherein: the power tool further comprises a spindle disposed in the first end part and configured to drive the tool accessory removably mounted to the spindle, by power of the motor, the operation part and the switch are respectively disposed in the first end part and the second end part, and at least a portion of the holding member extends in the specified direction within the grip part and holds the switching member. 3. The power tool as defined in claim 2 , wherein: the spindle is rotatably supported around an axis crossing the specified direction, and the power tool further comprises a transmitting mechanism configured to transmit rotation of an output shaft of the motor to the spindle and reciprocally rotate the spindle within a specified angle range around the axis. 4. The power tool as defined in claim 2 , further comprising: a support body disposed within the housing and supporting at least the motor and the spindle, and an elastic member interposed between the support body and the housing and connecting the support body and the housing so as to be movable relative to each other. 5. The power tool as defined in claim 1 , further comprising: a metal member exposed to an outside of the housing, wherein the holding member and the housing are configured to secure a creepage distance for insulation between the wiring in the groove and the metal member. 6. The power tool as defined in claim 5 , wherein: at least one of the holding member and the housing has a recess or a projection made of an insulator, the recess or the projection being interposed between the wiring and the metal member, thereby securing the creepage distance. 7. A power tool configured to drive a tool accessory, the power tool comprising: a motor; a switch for driving and stopping the motor; a housing that houses the motor and the switch, the housing being a hollow body formed by a first housing part and a second housing part connected with the first housing part, the first housing part having a through hole through a wall of the first housing part, the housing has an elongate shape extending in a specified direction and includes: a grip part configured to be held by a user; and a first end part and a second end part respectively connected to opposite sides of the grip part in the specified direction; a switching member connected to the switch, the switching member including an operation part exposed to an outside of the power tool through the through hole so as to be movable in the specified direction in response to a user's manual operation of the operation part and an extending part that extends between the operation part and the switch, the switching member being configured to turn the switch on and off by linearly moving in the specified direction in response to the manual operation of the operation part; a holding member supported by at least one of the first housing part and the second housing part within the housing and configured to directly hold the extending part between the holding member and the first housing part so as to be linearly movable in the specified direction; an illumination device disposed in the first end part and configured to illuminate a working region of the tool accessory; and a wiring for power supply, extending from the second end part and connecting to the illumination device, wherein: the operation part and the extending part are unitary such that the operation part and the extending part move in unison in the specified direction and the operation part cannot move independently of the extending part; the holding member is configured to guide the wiring from the second end part to the first end part; the holding member has a groove formed in a surface facing an inner surface of the housing; and the holding member is configured to hold the illumination device. 8. A power tool configured to drive a tool accessory, the power tool comprising: a motor; a spindle driven by the motor and extending along an axis that defines an up-down direction of the power tool; a switch for driving and stopping the motor; a housing that houses the motor, the spindle and the switch, the housing being a hollow body formed by an upper shell and a lower shell that is below the upper shell in the up-down direction and connected with the upper shell, the upper shell having a through hole through a wall of the upper shell; a switching member (1) connected to the switch, (2) that includes an operation part exposed to an outside of the upper shell through the through hole and an extending part that extends between the operation part and the switch, (3) that is movable in a specified direction that crosses the axis in response to a user's manual operation of the operation part, and (4) that is configured to turn the switch on and off by linearly moving in the specified direction in response to the manual operation of the operation part; and a holding member supported by and within the housing and configured to hold the switching member between the holding member and the upper shell so as to be linearly movable in the specified direction, wherein: the holding member is a separate member from the housing, is at least partially fixedly held by the connection between the upper shell and the lower shell, and directly and slidably supports the extending part; the holding member includes a slide-guide part that slidably engages with the extending part and legs that extend from the slide-guide part; and
