A modular gripper has a body with a trident section and cylindrical section. A powering assembly is positioned in the cylindrical section. A pair of oppositing jaws is pivotally secured between a center wall and a pair of side wall, respectively, of the trident section. The clevis cam driver with piston rod moves a cam assembly on the centre wall slot. The cam assembly passes through a body having a trident section and cylindrical section. The trident section comprises a trident structure that includes, at one end, a pair of side walls along with a center wall. The cylindrical section includes a fluid driven powering assembly. A pair of opposing jaw member are pivotally secured to the trident portion about separate pivot pins. A cam assembly is operatively connected to a piston rod of the fluid driven powering assembly. The cam assembly extends laterally outward with respect to a cylinder bore axis to receive a cam bush that engages with a through slot on each of the pair of opposing jaw members. The jaws rotate with respect to one another in response to fluid power in the cylindrical section. A pair of side plate members, each slide plate member has an elongated blind slot that receives an end of the cam assembly, the ends travel in the blind slot. Cam slots in the pair of opposing jaws, via a cam bushing.

What is claimed is: 1. A modular gripper assembly comprising: a body having a trident section and cylindrical section, the trident section includes a pair of side walls and a center wall, the cylindrical section includes a fluid driven powering assembly; a pair of opposing jaw member pivotally secured to the trident portion about separate pivot pins; a cam assembly operatively connected to a piston rod of the fluid driven powering assembly, the cam assembly includes a cam bush, extending laterally with respect to the piston rod, that engages with a through slot on each of the pair of opposing jaw members, the jaw members rotate with respect to one another in response to fluid power in the cylindrical section; and a pair of side plate members, each slide plate member having an elongated blind slot that receives an end of the cam assembly, the ends travel in the blind slot. 2. The modular gripper assembly of claim 1 , comprising wherein the side plate includes a window adjacent the blind slot. 3. The modular gripper assembly of claim 1 , wherein the piston assembly includes a clevis cam head with a through bore for receiving a cam pin, the cam pin receiving the cam bush. 4. The modular gripper assembly of claim 3 , wherein the striker has a cylindrical shape with a projection boss and a through bore. 5. The modular gripper assembly of claim 4 , wherein the boss locates the striker on the jaw member, the fastener passes through the through bore to secure the striker to the jaw member. 6. The modular gripper assembly of claim 3 , wherein the striker impacts a fixed threaded bumper, the adjustability of threaded bumper is configured to different jaw openings. 7. The modular gripper assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a striker that includes a bushing with a fastener to attach to a bore in the jaw member. 8. The modular gripper assembly of claim 7 , wherein the sheet stopper including a stopper body and at least one wing extending from the stopper body. 9. The modular gripper assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a sheet stopper. 10. The modular gripper assembly of claim 9 , wherein the stopper body includes a pair of wings. 11. The modular gripper assembly of claim 9 , wherein the at least one wing includes a slot for enabling variable positioning of the sheet stopper along the trident section. 12. The modular gripper assembly of claim 9 , wherein the at least one wing secures to one of the side walls of the trident section. 13. The modular gripper assembly of claim 1 , wherein the center wall is provided with a slot from the front end of the body, that is in-line with the cylinder axis, to guide a piston rod clevis end.
