Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A gaming machine receives a first play input at a first gaming machine, determines a first quantity of play areas based on a first wager, generates at least one first play area based on the determined first quantity, and determines whether the at least one first play area satisfies a predetermined first threshold. At least a portion of the first wager associated with the first play input is allocated to a progressive jackpot. At least a first portion of the progressive jackpot is allocated to the first gaming machine when the at least one first play area satisfies the predetermined first threshold.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for presenting game play of a game of chance, the system comprising: a plurality of gaming machines; and a gaming server in communication with the plurality of gaming machines, the gaming server comprising at least one server processor executing a first set of instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one server processor to: generate a primary set of identifiers for at least one round of game play of a primary game; generate a master set of identifiers for at least one secondary game provided on the plurality of gaming machines; and determine, for the at least one round of primary game play on the plurality of gaming machines, a first quantity of secondary bingo cards to be played in a round of game play of the at least one secondary game, wherein, each gaming machine of the plurality of gaming machines comprising a gaming controller executing a second set of instructions that, when executed, cause the respective gaming controller to: receive an input initiating primary game play of the primary game; in response to receiving the input, (i) allocate a portion of the input to a progressive jackpot and (ii) cause to be displayed, via an attached display device, at least one primary bingo card for the at least one round of game play of the primary game, the at least one primary bingo card comprising a plurality of identifiers; determine whether matching identifiers of at least one primary bingo card satisfy a winning pattern for the at least one round of game play of the primary game; cause to be displayed the first quantity of secondary bingo cards as part of the at least one secondary game; compare the master set of identifiers with respective pluralities of identifiers of the first quantity of secondary bingo cards during each round of game play of the at least one secondary game; and determine that respective matching identifiers of at least one secondary bingo card satisfy a winning pattern for the at least one secondary game, and wherein in response to the determination, the gaming server awards a first progressive jackpot of one or more progressive jackpots to a winning gaming machine of the plurality of gaming machines. 2. The system in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the first set of instructions, when executed, further cause the at least one server processor to at least replace the master set of identifiers with a new master set of identifiers in response to determining the satisfaction of the winning pattern for the at least one secondary game on any of the plurality of gaming machines. 3. The system in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the second set of instructions, when executed, further cause the respective gaming controller to identify a plurality of winning patterns associated with the at least one secondary game, wherein each winning pattern of the plurality of winning patterns is associated with at least one progressive jackpot of the one or more progressive jackpots. 4. The system in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the second set of instructions, when executed, further cause the respective gaming controller to at least determine that the respective matching identifiers for the first quantity of secondary bingo cards satisfy a second winning pattern for the at least one secondary game. 5. The system in accordance with claim 4 , wherein the first set of instructions, when executed, further cause the at least one server processor to at least award a second progressive jackpot to the winning gaming machine in response to satisfying the second winning pattern for the at least one secondary game, the second progressive jackpot different from the first progressive jackpot. 6. The system in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the second set of instructions, when executed, further cause the respective gaming controller to cause to be displayed, via the attached display device, a plurality of primary bingo cards, wherein each primary bingo card of the plurality of primary bingo cards is unique. 7. The system in accordance with claim 1 , wherein the input identifies a wager amount, and wherein the first quantity of secondary bingo cards is based, at least in part, on the wager amount. 8. A method for presenting game play of a game of chance on a plurality of gaming machines coupled to a gaming server, the plurality of gaming machines including a first gaming machine and a second gaming machine, the method comprising: generating, by a processor of the gaming server, a master set of identifiers for at least one secondary game provided on the plurality of gaming machines; receiving a first input at the first gaming machine of the plurality of gaming machines; in response to receiving the first input, (i) allocating a portion of the first input to one or more progressive jackpots and (ii) presenting, via a display device of the first gaming machine, at least one first primary bingo card for a primary game, the at least one first primary bingo card comprising a first plurality of identifiers; generating, by the processor of the gaming server, a primary set of identifiers; determining, by a processor of the first gaming machine, whether matching identifiers for the at least one first primary bingo card satisfy a winning pattern for the primary game; in response to the matching identifiers satisfying the winning pattern, determining, by the processor of the gaming server, a first quantity of secondary bingo cards to be played in a round of game play of the at least one secondary game on the first gaming machine; causing to be displayed, via the display device of the first gaming machine, the first quantity of the secondary bingo cards as part of the at least one secondary game; comparing, by the processor of the gaming server, the master set of identifiers with the respective pluralities of identifiers of the first quantity of secondary bingo cards to determine respective matching identifiers on the first quantity of secondary bingo cards; comparing, by the processor of the gaming server, the master set of identifiers with identifiers of secondary bingo cards determined during other rounds of game play of the secondary game on the second gaming machine; determining, by the processor of the gaming server, that comparison of the master set of identifiers with identifiers of at least one secondary bingo card of the second gaming machine satisfies a winning pattern for the at least one secondary game; and in response to the determination, awarding, by the processor of the gaming server, at least a first portion of a progressive jackpot of the one or more progressive jackpots to the second gaming machine. 9. The method in accordance with claim 8 , further comprising replacing, by the processor of the gaming server, the master set of identifiers with a new master set of identifiers in response to determining the satisfaction of the winning pattern for the at least one secondary game on any of the plurality of gaming machines. 10. The method in accordance with claim 8 , further comprising identifying a plurality of winning patterns associated with the at least one secondary game, wherein each winning pattern of the plurality of winning patterns is associated with at least one progressive jackpot of the one or more progressive jackpots. 11. The method in accordance with claim 8 , further comprising determining that the respective matching identifiers for the first quantity of secondary bingo cards satisfy a second winning pattern for the at least one secondary game. 12. The method in accordance with claim 11 , further comprising awarding, by the processor of the gaming server, a second portion of the progressive jackpot to the
