Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A filter well mountable dispenser holder securable within a hot tub filter well with the dispenser holder supporting replaceable dispersant containing dispensing cartridges positionable within a circulating flow of water through the filter well to thereby release dispersants therefrom without preventing the circulating flow of water from passing through the filter media proximate the dispensing cartridges.

We claim: 1. A hot tub having a water chamber containing a body of recirculating water with the hot tub including: a seating area; a filter well having a cylindrical filter cartridge located below a water line in the hot tub with the cylindrical filter cartridge having a filter media for removing debris and bacteria from the recirculating water as the recirculating water flows radially inward through the filter media; a dispenser holder located in the filter well with the dispenser holder having a base supported proximate an end of-a the filter cartridge with a face of the base spaced from but proximate an exterior surface of the filter media to form a gap therebetween sufficiently large so as to allow the recirculating water to flow into the gap and through the filter media proximate the dispenser holder; a dispensing cartridge removably attached to the dispenser holder with the dispensing cartridge containing a dispersant therein with an outlet of the dispensing cartridge located below the water line and spaced from the filter media to thereby deliver the disperant therein into the recirculating water flowing through the filter media; and a further dispensing cartridge removably attached to the dispenser holder with the further dispensing cartridge located below the water line and spaced from the exterior surface of the filter media to thereby deliver a further disperant into the recirculating water flowing through the filter media with the dispensing cartridge and the further dispensing cartridge extending partially along the filter media and at least one of the dispensing cartridges contains a halogen. 2. The hot tub of claim 1 wherein the dispenser holder includes a resilient yoke snapably engageable with a one end of the dispensing cartridge. 3. The hot tub of claim 1 where the filter well is an integral component of the hot tub. 4. The hot tub of claim 1 where the filter well is coupled to a recirculating water system that circulates water through the filter well. 5. The hot tub of claim 1 wherein a water line of the filter well and the water line of the hot tub are the same. 6. The hot tub of claim 1 wherein the cylindrical filter cartridge is mounted vertically in the filter well. 7. A hot tub having a water chamber containing a body of recirculating water with the hot tub including: a seating area; a filter well having a cylindrical filter cartridge located below a water line in the hot tub with the cylindrical filter cartridge having a filter media for removing debris and bacteria from the recirculating water as the recirculating water flows radially inward through the filter media; a dispenser holder located in the filter well with the dispenser holder having a base supported proximate an end of the filter cartridge with a face of the base spaced from but proximate an exterior surface of the filter media to form a gap therebetween sufficiently large so as to allow the recirculating water to flow into the gap and through the filter media proximate the dispenser holder; a dispensing cartridge removably attached to the dispenser holder with the dispensing cartridge containing a dispersant therein with an outlet of the dispensing cartridge located below the water line and spaced from the filter media to thereby deliver the disperant therein into the recirculating water flowing through the filter media; and a further dispensing cartridge removably attached to the dispenser holder with the further dispensing cartridge located below the water line and spaced from the exterior surface of the filter media to thereby deliver a further disperant into the recirculating water flowing through the filter media wherein the dispensing cartridge and further dispensing dispenser holder contour the filter cartridge and the filter well to avoid interference of movement of a weir door to the filter well. 8. A hot tub having a water chamber containing a body of recirculating water with the hot tub including: a seating area; a filter well having a cylindrical filter cartridge located below a water line in the hot tub with the cylindrical filter cartridge having a filter media for removing debris and bacteria from the recirculating water as the recirculating water flows radially inward through the filter media; a dispenser holder located in the filter well with the dispenser holder having a base supported proximate an end of the filter cartridge with a face of the base spaced from but proximate an exterior surface of the filter media to form a gap therebetween sufficiently large so as to allow the recirculating water to flow into the gap and through the filter media proximate the dispenser holder; and at least one dispensing cartridge removably attached to the dispenser holder with the dispensing cartridge containing a dispersant therein with an outlet of the dispensing cartridge located below the water line and spaced from the filter media to thereby deliver the disperant therein into the recirculating water flowing through the filter media wherein the at least one dispensing cartridge has a concave side surface and the cylindrical filter cartridge has a convex surface with lateral arcuate spacing therebetween.
