A controller is provided. A controller body to be held by a user, the controller body includes an input mechanism for receiving control inputs, an accelerometer for detecting translational or rotational movement of the controller body, and a vibrational device for providing vibration. The controller further includes a light for tracking by a camera, a voice input device and a wireless communication module. The wireless communication module communicates data between the controller and a computer for driving interaction with the video game. The data communicated between the controller and the computer includes control inputs and voice inputs from the voice input device.

What is claimed is: 1. A controller for interacting with a video game application, comprising: a controller body to be held by a user, the controller body includes an input mechanism for the user to input control inputs for driving said interacting with the video game, the controller body having an accelerometer for detecting translational or rotational movement of the controller body and a vibrational device for providing vibration; a voice input device interfaced with the controller body via a connector; and a wireless communication module of the controller body for communicating data between the controller and a computer for driving said interacting with the video game; wherein the data includes said control inputs and voice inputs from said voice input device. 2. The controller of claim 1 , wherein the voice inputs are processed by the computer as game commands, the game commands are configured to be implemented to interface with the video game application. 3. The controller of claim 1 , wherein the voice inputs are processed by the computer as voice communications, the voice communications are configured to be communicated to other players of the video game application. 4. The controller of claim 1 , wherein the computer is of a server system and wherein said communicating the data between the controller and the computer is performed via a network. 5. The controller of claim 1 , further comprising, a light interfaced with the controller body, wherein the light is activated in response to instructions received from the computer. 6. The controller of claim 1 , further comprising, a light interfaced with the controller body, wherein the light, when activated, is used to at least partially track the controller during said interacting with the video game. 7. The controller of claim 1 , further comprising, a light interfaced with the controller body, wherein the light is interfaced with the controller body such that it is detectable by a camera when the controller body is held or moved by the user. 8. The controller of claim 1 , wherein the input mechanism includes a pressure pad responsive to touch inputs. 9. A controller for interacting with a computer program executed on a computing system, the controller comprising: a controller body having an input mechanism for the user to input control inputs, the controller body having an accelerometer for detecting translational or rotational movement of the controller body and a vibrational device for providing vibration, wherein the controller body has a shape for holding by the user; a voice input device interfaced with the controller body via a connector; and a wireless communication module of the controller body for communicating data between the controller and the computing system, the data includes the control inputs from the input mechanism and voice inputs from the voice input device; wherein both of the control inputs and voice inputs are configured to drive said interacting with the computer program. 10. The controller of claim 9 , wherein the voice inputs are processed by the computing system as voice commands, the voice commands are configured to be implemented to cause state changes in the computer program. 11. The controller of claim 9 , wherein the voice inputs are processed by computing system as voice communication, the voice communications are configured to be communicated to one or more users. 12. The controller of claim 9 , further comprising a light interfaced with the controller body that is configured to be tracked by a camera, wherein the light is activated in response to instructions received from the computing system. 13. The controller of claim 9 , further comprising a light interfaced with the controller body that is configured to be tracked by a camera, wherein the light, when activated, is used to at least partially track the controller during said interacting with the video game. 14. The controller of claim 9 , wherein the computing system is a remote processing device and wherein said communicating the data between the controller and the computing system is performed via a network. 15. The controller of claim 9 , wherein the computing system is one of a server system remote from the user. 16. The controller of claim 9 , wherein the input mechanism includes a pressure pad responsive to touch inputs. 17. The controller of claim 9 , further comprising a light interfaced with the controller body that is configured to be tracked by a camera, wherein the light is interfaced with the controller body at a location such that it is not occluded from a view of the camera when held by the user in front of the camera. 18. The controller of claim 9 , wherein the computer program is an interactive video game. 19. A controller for interacting with a video game, the controller comprising: a controller body having an input mechanism for the user to input control inputs, the controller body having an accelerometer for detecting translational or rotational movement of the controller body having a connector for a microphone for receiving voice input of the user, wherein the controller body has a shape for holding by the user; and a wireless communication module of the controller body for communicating data between the controller and a computing system executing the video game, the data includes the control inputs from the input mechanism, the voice inputs from the microphone; wherein both of the control inputs, the voice inputs are configured to drive said interacting with the video game. 20. The controller of claim 19 , wherein the voice inputs are processed by the computing system as voice commands or voice communications using voice recognition, the voice commands are configured to be implemented as game actions in the video game or to be communicated to other users of the video game, respectively.
