A bendable user terminal device provided with a flexible display controls the flexible display to display information on a first area while the user terminal device is maintained in a bent state based on a detected bending state of the user terminal device, and, in response to the user terminal device changing from the bent state to an unbent state, controls the flexible display not to display the information on the first area.

What is claimed is: 1. A user terminal device which is bendable, comprising: a flexible display; a bending sensor configured to detect a bending state of the user terminal device; and a processor configured to: based on an event related to an application of the user terminal device occurring while the flexible display is in an unbent state, control the flexible display to display a notification related to the event, based on the flexible display changing from the unbent state to a bent state in which the flexible display is divided into a first area and a second area while the notification is displayed, control the flexible display to display first information related to the event on the first area, and based on the flexible display changing from the bent state to a further bent state by additional force applied to the user terminal device while the first information is displayed on the first area, control the flexible display to display second information related to the event on the second area while the flexible display is in the further bent state. 2. The user terminal device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the processor, based on the event being a message reception event, controls the flexible display to display information on a message received on the first area and to display a keyboard on the second area. 3. A method performed by a user terminal device to display a content using a flexible display, the method comprising: based on an event related to an application of the user terminal device occurring while the flexible display is in an unbent state, displaying a notification related to the event; based on the flexible display changing from the unbent state to a bent state in which the flexible display is divided into a first area and a second area while the notification related to the event is displayed, displaying first information related to the event on the first area; and based on the flexible display changing from the bent state to a further bent state by additional force applied to the user terminal device while the first information is displayed on the first area, displaying second information related to the event on the second area while the flexible display is in the further bent state. 4. The method as claimed in claim 3 , wherein, based on the event being a message reception event, information on a received message is displayed on the first area, and a keyboard is displayed on the second area.
