A cannulated retrograde reamer that is adjustable to create tunnels of multiple different diameters. The cannulated retrograde reamer substantially reduces the risk of tunnel malposition and/or misalignment, and can be adjusted to create a range of tunnel diameters, thereby allowing inventory levels to be reduced for a surgical case.

What is claimed is: 1. A method of operating a retrograde reamer in a surgical procedure, comprising: introducing a retrograde reamer into a surgical site, the retrograde reamer comprising: a first tubular shaft having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween, the distal end of the first tubular shaft including an opening and a plurality of cutting edges circumferentially disposed around the opening configured for drilling a first bone tunnel, at least one second shaft movably disposable within the first tubular shaft such that a distal end of the second shaft is extendable through the opening, and at least one cutting member having a first end and a second end, the cutting member having a first cutting member portion spaced from a second cutting member portion along the longitudinal axis, and a flex member formed separately from the first member such that at least a portion of the flex member extends between the cutting member portions, each of the first and second ends of the cutting member movably coupled to the second shaft; performing relative movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft; and in response to the relative movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft, displacing the cutting member from a collapsed position to at least one deployed position, thereby defining at least one cutting diameter; wherein the portion of the flex member extending between the cutting member portions is configured to move through an opening in a sidewall of the first tubular shaft when the cutting member is in the deployed position. 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the performing of relative movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft includes performing relative rotational movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft. 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the performing of relative movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft includes performing relative axial movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft. 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the performing of relative movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft includes performing relative rotational and axial movement of the first tubular shaft and the second shaft. 5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising drilling the first bone tunnel with the distal end of the first tubular shaft in a first direction. 6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first tubular shaft is a 4.5 mm reamer. 7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising overdrilling a second bone tunnel within the first bone tunnel in a second direction opposite the first direction with the cutting member. 8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second shaft is a 2.4 mm retrograde reamer. 9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising drilling a guidewire in bone to mark the placement of the first bone tunnel. 10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the distal end of the second shaft defines a pointed tip. 11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the flex member comprises a Nitinol alloy. 12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one cutting member comprises a Nitinol alloy.
