Systems and methods are disclosed for displaying notifications received from multiple applications. In some embodiments, an electronic device can monitor notifications that are received from the multiple applications. Responsive to receiving the notifications, the electronic device can control the manner in which the notifications are displayed while the device is operating in a locked or an unlocked state. In some embodiments, the electronic device can allow users to customize how notifications are to be displayed while the device is in the locked and/or unlocked states.

What is claimed is: 1. An electronic device, comprising: one or more processors; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to: provide an option on a touch-sensitive display to modify notification settings for the electronic device; detect that a user has selected the option; in response to detecting that the user has selected the option, provide a list of applications having notification settings including: a first application including a first indication of a current setting for how notifications are to be presented for the first application; and a second application including a second indication of a current setting for how notifications are to be presented for the second application, wherein the second indication is different from the first indication; detect that the user has selected an application from the list of applications; and in response to detecting that the user has selected an application from the list of applications, provide a plurality of notification settings for the selected application, including at least one setting for configuring how notifications are to be presented for the selected application. 2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for specifying whether to include notifications received from the selected application in an interactive list of notifications. 3. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for specifying a pre-determined number of notifications to be displayed for the selected application. 4. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for selecting whether to display notifications associated with the selected application while the electronic device is operating in a locked state. 5. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one setting for configuring how notifications are to be presented for the selected application comprises at least one setting for specifying how notifications are to be displayed while the electronic device is operating in an unlocked state. 6. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for specifying whether to display a picture of the selected application in a banner corresponding to a notification that is received for the selected application. 7. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one setting for configuring how notifications are to be presented for the selected application comprises at least one setting for specifying whether to enable sounds upon receipt of a notification for the selected application. 8. The electronic device of claim 1 , further instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to: receive a user selection of an automatic mode for specifying an order in which notifications are displayed; and assign a pre-determined order for displaying the notifications in a list of notifications. 9. The electronic device of claim 8 , wherein the pre-determined order is based on times of receipt of the notifications. 10. The electronic device of claim 1 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to: receive a user selection of a manual mode for specifying an order in which notifications are displayed; provide options for the user to specify the order in which the notifications are displayed in a list of notifications; and sort the notifications that are received based on the order. 11. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the first indication comprises a first number of current settings for how notifications are to be presented for the first application and the second indication comprises a second number of current settings for how notifications are to be presented for the second application, wherein the second number is different from the first number. 12. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the first indication indicates that notifications for the first application will be presented in a first format and wherein the second indication indicates that notifications for the second application will be presented in a second format, different from the first format. 13. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which when executed by an electronic device, cause the electronic device to: provide an option on a touch-sensitive display to modify notification settings for the electronic device; detect that a user has selected the option; in response to detecting that the user has selected the option, provide a list of applications having notification settings including: a first application including a first indication of a current setting for how notifications are to be presented for the first application; and a second application including a second indication of a current setting for how notifications are to be presented for the second application; detect that the user has selected an application from the list of applications; and in response to detecting that the user has selected an application from the list of applications, provide a plurality of notification settings for the selected application, including at least one setting for configuring how notifications are to be presented for the selected application. 14. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for specifying whether to include notifications received from the selected application in an interactive list of notifications. 15. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for specifying a pre-determined number of notifications to be displayed for the selected application. 16. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for selecting whether to display notifications associated with the selected application while the electronic device is operating in a locked state. 17. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the at least one setting for configuring how notifications are to be presented for the selected application comprises at least one setting for specifying how notifications are to be displayed while the electronic device is operating in an unlocked state. 18. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of notification settings comprises at least one option for specifying whether to display a picture of the selected application in a banner corresponding to a notification that is received for the selected application. 19. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the at least one setting for configuring how notifications are to be presented for the selected application comprises at least one setting for specifying whether to enable sounds upon receipt of a notification for the selected application. 20. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 13 , further comprising instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to: receive
