This disclosure relates to remote control of dialysis machines. In certain aspects, a method includes receiving a request for a network connection from a dialysis machine and establishing the network connection with the dialysis machine. The method also includes receiving, from a client device, a request to access the dialysis machine, authorizing the client device to access the dialysis machine, receiving, from the dialysis machine, information pertaining to an operation of the dialysis machine, and providing, to the client device, the received information.

What is claimed is: 1. A system comprising: a network device located in a home of a patient; a dialysis machine configured to connect to the network device over a network; and a mobile device configured to connect to the network device, wherein the network device is configured for: receiving, from the dialysis machine, through the network, data obtained by a camera or a sensor of the dialysis machine; determining whether the mobile device is authorized to monitor the dialysis machine, wherein if it is determined that the mobile device is authorized to monitor the dialysis machine, providing, to the mobile device, the data for generating information on a display of the mobile device; and determining whether the mobile device is authorized to control the dialysis machine, wherein, if it is determined that the mobile device is authorized to control the dialysis machine, the display of the mobile device is configured to present controls for controlling the dialysis machine. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein dialysis machine includes the camera, and wherein the data is video data obtained by the camera. 3. The system of claim 2 , wherein the information generated on the display of the mobile device, using the video data from the dialysis machine, includes video. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the dialysis machine includes the sensor, and wherein the data includes treatment data. 5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the information generated on the display of the mobile device, using the treatment data from the dialysis machine, includes one or more of treatment time remaining, arterial pressure, venous pressure, transmembrane pressure, ultrafiltration data, or dialysate data. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information generated on the display of the mobile device, using the data from the dialysis machine, includes one or both of an alarm or an alert. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the display of the mobile device is configured to present information that is presented on a display of the dialysis machine. 8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the display of the mobile device is configured to present the same information that is presented on the display of the dialysis machine. 9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the display of the mobile device is configured to present a virtual representation of controls that are presented by the dialysis machine. 10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the controls presented by the dialysis machine include a control panel. 11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the control panel is configured to receive input for controlling the dialysis machine. 12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the input received at the controls presented by the dialysis machine takes priority over input received at the display of the mobile device for controlling the dialysis machine. 13. The system of claim 1 , wherein controlling the dialysis machine includes one or more of pausing, starting, or restarting a dialysis treatment. 14. The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is authorized to control or monitor the dialysis machine based on an access control list. 15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the access control list is obtained by the dialysis machine over the network. 16. The system of claim 14 , wherein the access control list specifies a hierarchy of control of various mobile devices. 17. The system of claim 1 , wherein the dialysis machine is located at the home of the patient. 18. The system of claim 1 , wherein the dialysis machine and the mobile device are located in the home of the patient. 19. The system of claim 1 , wherein the dialysis machine is located at the home of the patient and the mobile device is located remotely from the home of the patient. 20. The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is one or more of a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a laptop, a netbook or a smartphone.
