Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A dispenser for mixing and dispensing a liquid chemical concentrate with a diluent from a container. The dispenser includes two slidable eductors one of which is also rotatable. Both a high and low flow rate can be obtained with simultaneous adjustment of concentration of the chemical concentrate. The dispenser has a high degree of accuracy of the amount of dilution of the chemical concentrate as well as positive positioning of the high and low flow rate.

The invention claimed is: 1. A dispenser comprising: a body defining a bore and including an inlet and an outlet, the inlet adapted to be connected to a source of pressurized water; an eductor coupled to the body and defining a fluid passage, the eductor movable relative to the body such that the fluid passage is selectively in fluid communication with the inlet, the eductor configured to control one or more flow rates of water and chemical concentrate through an outlet of the dispenser; a product passage configured to be fluidly connected between the body and a container supporting chemical concentrate to selectively provide chemical concentrate to the fluid passage; a nozzle fluidly coupled to the eductor and configured to discharge the water and the chemical concentrate through the outlet; a trigger coupled to the body adjacent an upperside of the body in a use position of the dispenser; a grip coupled to the body adjacent an underside of the body in a use position of the dispenser; and a key formed on one of the body and the eductor and a keyway configured to receive the key and formed in the other of the body and the eductor, wherein the key and the keyway are aligned with an axial direction of the bore. 2. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein an inlet of the nozzle and an outlet of the nozzle are oriented at a non-zero angle relative to each other, and wherein the nozzle outlet is oriented in a generally downward direction. 3. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising a spout connected to one or both of the body and a container connector connecting the container to the body. 4. The dispenser of claim 3 , wherein orientation of the spout in the generally downward direction is configured to engage a bucket and support the dispenser while engaged with the bucket. 5. The dispenser of claim 3 , further comprising a tube engaged with the nozzle and receivable in an opening of the spout. 6. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein the eductor is rotatable to different positions relative to the body to provide a first concentration of chemical concentrate and a second concentration of chemical concentrate that is different from the first concentration. 7. The dispenser of claim 6 , wherein the eductor is slidable to adjust the flow rate of water. 8. The dispenser of claim 1 , wherein the eductor includes a first eductor part and a second eductor part, and wherein the second eductor part is slidable relative to the body to provide control of different flow rates of water and chemical concentrate from the fluid passage to the outlet. 9. The dispenser of claim 1 , further comprising a vent passage connected to the container and configured to vent the container in response to discharge of chemical concentrate through the product passage. 10. A dispenser comprising: a body including an inlet and an outlet, the inlet adapted to be connected to a source of pressurized water; an eductor coupled to the body and including a first passageway and a second passageway selectively in fluid communication with the source of pressurized water and a source of chemical concentrate, the eductor movable relative to the body to different positions to provide control of one or more flow rates of water and chemical concentrate to the outlet, wherein the eductor is movable to fluidly connect an inlet to the first passageway and to inhibit flow of fluid through the second passageway, and the eductor is movable to fluidly connect the inlet to the second passageway and to inhibit flow of fluid through the first passageway. 11. The dispenser of claim 10 , further comprising a key formed on one of the body and the eductor and a keyway configured to receive the key and formed in the other of the body and the eductor, and wherein the key and the keyway are aligned with an axial direction of the bore. 12. The dispenser of claim 10 , wherein the eductor is rotatable to different positions relative to the body to provide a first concentration of chemical concentrate and a second concentration of chemical concentrate that is different from the first concentration. 13. The dispenser of claim 10 , wherein the eductor is slidable to adjust the flow rate of water. 14. The dispenser of claim 10 , wherein the eductor includes a first eductor part and a second eductor part, and wherein the second eductor part is slidable relative to the body to provide control of different flow rates of water and chemical concentrate from the fluid passage to the outlet. 15. A dispenser comprising: a body including an inlet and an outlet, the inlet adapted to be connected to a source of pressurized water; an eductor coupled to the body and defining fluid passages, the eductor movable relative to the body such that the fluid passages are selectively in fluid communication with the inlet to receive pressurized water, the eductor configured to control one or more flow rates of water and chemical concentrate through the outlet; a product passage configured to be connected between the eductor and a container supporting chemical concentrate to selectively direct chemical concentrate to a selected fluid passage of the fluid passages; and a seal coupled to the body and positioned between the eductor and the product passage to selectively inhibit flow of chemical concentrate into the eductor; and a key formed on one of the body and the eductor and a keyway configured to receive the key and formed in the other of the body and the eductor, wherein the key and the keyway are aligned with an axial direction of the bore. 16. The dispenser of claim 15 , wherein the eductor is slidable to adjust the flow rate of water. 17. The dispenser of claim 15 , wherein the seal is positioned over the product passage and has one or more openings configured to selectively permit flow of chemical concentrate through the seal to the eductor. 18. The dispenser of claim 15 , further comprising a vent passage connected to the container and configured to vent the container in response to discharge of chemical concentrate through the product passage, wherein the seal is positioned to selectively close the vent passage.
