A plurality of mobile devices is provided including a first mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices that serves as a relay for communication between a second mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices and a third mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices. The first mobile device is identified as the relay based on a social trust relationship formed between the first mobile device and the second mobile device. A D2D network is formed between the first mobile device and second mobile device. A communication channel is provided to the second mobile device from a second cellular network. A portion of the communication channel is allocated to the second mobile device using the D2D network to improve cellular transmission between the second mobile device and the third mobile device.

What is claimed is: 1. A system for device-to-device (D2D) communications, comprising: a plurality of mobile devices, with a first mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices configured to serve as a relay for communication between a second mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices and a third mobile device of the plurality of mobile devices, wherein the first mobile device is identified as the relay based on a predetermined social trust relationship formed between the first mobile device and the second mobile device; a D2D network formed between the first mobile device and the second mobile device; a first communication channel accessible to the first mobile device from a first cellular network; and a second communication channel accessible to the second mobile device from a second cellular network, wherein at least a portion of the first communication channel is aggregated with the second communication channel via the D2D network to improve cellular transmission between the second mobile device and the third mobile device. 2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the D2D network comprises Wi-Fi direct transmission. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the D2D network comprises a cellular network. 4. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a fourth mobile device as an additional relay device for providing additional bandwidth to the second mobile device. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the predetermined social trust relationship is formed by the first mobile device authorizing the second mobile device to make use of a portion of bandwidth of the first communication channel accessible to the first mobile device when the portion of the bandwidth meets a predetermined threshold amount. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first cellular network is part of the second cellular network. 7. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a base station in communication with the plurality of mobile devices.
