A refrigerator includes a cabinet defining a storage space, a door connected to the cabinet and configured to open and close the storage space, the door defining an opening that is in communication with the storage space, a detection device provided in the door and configured to detect a user's operation, a lighting unit configured to, based on the door being closed, turn on and off according to a signal from the detection device and to illuminate an inside of the refrigerator, and a panel assembly provided to the door and covering the opening, the panel assembly being configured to allow selective viewing of the inside of the refrigerator through the panel assembly. The panel assembly is configured to, based on the lighting unit being turned on, transmit light from the inside of the refrigerator to thereby allow viewing of the inside of the refrigerator through the panel assembly.

What is claimed is: 1. A home appliance comprising: a cabinet defining an inner space; a door configured to open and close the inner space and connected to the cabinet by a hinge; a lighting unit provided in the inner space and configured to illuminate an inside of the home appliance; and a main control part configured to control the lighting unit, wherein the door includes: a frame having an opening; a panel assembly to cover the opening and including a front panel that forms a front exterior of the door, wherein the front panel comprises a first portion through which light emitted from the lighting unit passes, and a second portion provided outside the first portion, a sensor provided at a rear of the front panel, wherein the sensor includes a microphone and a microphone accommodation part to support the microphone, an electric wire electrically connected to the sensor, wherein the microphone accommodation part is in contact with the second portion of the front panel and defines an opening at a first portion of the microphone accommodation part, the opening being positioned between the second portion of the front panel and the microphone to provide spacing between the second portion of the front panel and the microphone, wherein the opening exposes the microphone to the second portion of the front panel, wherein the electric wire extends along an outer periphery of the panel assembly, wherein the lighting unit is configured, based on the sensor detecting a user input signal applied on the front panel, to be turned on, and wherein an interior of the storage space is visible through the first portion of the front panel when the lighting unit is turned on in a state in which the door closes the storage space. 2. The home appliance of claim 1 , wherein the electric wire extends at an outside the first portion of the front panel. 3. The home appliance of claim 1 , wherein the door further includes one or more insulation panels provided at a rear of the front panel, and the electric wire extends along an outer periphery of the one or more insulation panels. 4. The home appliance of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is provided closer to a boundary between the first portion and the second portion than an outer edge of the front panel. 5. The home appliance of claim 1 , wherein a light transmittance of the second portion is less than that of the first portion. 6. The home appliance of claim 1 , wherein the sensor senses a user input signal applied to the front panel. 7. The home appliance of claim 6 , wherein the sensor determines that the user input signal is a normal signal if the sensor senses a first sound signal and a second sound signal within a predetermined time. 8. The home appliance of claim 1 , wherein the microphone accommodation part includes a protrusion at a circumference of the opening. 9. A home appliance comprising: a cabinet defining an inner space; a lighting unit provided in the inner space and configured to illuminate an inside of the home appliance; a first door configured to open and close the inner space and connected to the cabinet by a first hinge, and including a first frame that has a first opening; a second door configured to open and close the first opening, and including a second frame that has a second opening and a panel assembly to cover the second opening; a second hinge connected to the second door, wherein the panel assembly comprises: a front panel includes a first portion and a second portion; an insulation panel provided at a rear of the front panel; and an insulation space between the front panel and the insulation panel, wherein a sensor is provided at the second portion of the front panel, wherein the sensor includes a microphone and a microphone supporter to support the microphone, wherein an electric wire is electrically connected to the sensor, wherein the microphone supporter is in contact with the second portion of the front panel and defines an opening at a first portion of the microphone supporter, the opening being positioned between the second portion of the front panel and the microphone to provide spacing between the second portion of the front panel and the microphone, wherein the opening exposes the microphone to the second portion of the front panel, wherein the electric wire extends along a space defined by the panel assembly and the panel assembly toward the second hinge, and wherein when a user input signal is applied on the front panel, an interior of the storage space is visible through the first portion of the front panel based on the sensor detecting the user input signal. 10. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein light emitted from the lighting unit passes through the first portion and the second portion provided outside the first portion, wherein the electric wire extends at an outside the first portion of the front panel. 11. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein the second frame comprises an electric wire guide part to guide the electric wire toward the second hinge. 12. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein the second door further comprising a hinge cover which shields at least a portion of the second hinge, and wherein the electric wire extends along a space between the second hinge and the hinge cover. 13. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein the first door includes a hinge hole in which the second hinge is inserted, and wherein the electric wire extends from the first door to second door through the hinge hole. 14. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein the sensor is provided closer to a boundary between the first portion and the second portion than an outer edge of the front panel. 15. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein when the user input signal is applied on the front panel, the lighting unit is configured to be turned on. 16. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein the home appliance is a refrigerator. 17. The home appliance of claim 9 , wherein the microphone supporter includes a protrusion at a circumference of the opening.
