What is claimed is: 1. A printing apparatus comprising: a supply spool support for supporting a supply spool and a take-up spool support for supporting a take-up spool, the supply spool support and the take-up spool support being drivable by at least one motor; a housing defining an enclosure; and a device having an input for receiving an input voltage and an output for delivering an output voltage to the at least one motor, the output voltage being lower than the input voltage, wherein the device is located within the enclosure, and the printing apparatus including a heat sink for dissipating heat away from the device. 2. A printing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the at least one motor is located within the enclosure. 3. A printing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the device is a power supply including at least one of a transformer, a rectifier and an active switch device. 4. A printing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the housing comprises the heat sink. 5. A printing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the housing defines one or more passageways for receiving one or more respective cables. 6. A printing apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein a selected one of the cables is configured to supply the input voltage to the device from an energy source. 7. A printing apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein one or more cables are configured to electrically communicate with one or more respective component parts of a printing system. 8. A printing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the device is configured to reduce the voltage from around 90-240 V (alternating current) to around 24 V (direct current).
