What is claimed is: 1. A touch pen of a pen-type electronic input device comprising: a shaft-shaped body; a pen tip used to input information and provided on a front end of the body; a switch used to perform operations and arranged in a line on a side face of the body; an electrically conductive barrel provided on the body, the barrel having a U-shaped slit that is opened toward the front end and is formed by being cut out of a side face part of the barrel in an axial direction; wherein the body comprises a cylindrical surface and a protruding portion having a top surface with a larger curvature radius than that of the cylindrical surface and guide surfaces disposed both sides of the protruding portion, the cylindrical surface is contacted and covered with the barrel, and the protruding surface is exposed through the slit, the switch arranged on the protruding surface passes through the slit in an exposed state, and the barrel is slidably inserted onto the body from a rear end of the body, the guide surfaces of the protruding portion being guided along end faces of the slit so that the top surface is exposed from the slit. 2. The touch pen according to claim 1 , further comprising: a conducting lead, provided inside the body, that conducts electricity from the pen tip to the barrel, wherein in a case of using the touch pen with a capacitive touch panel, an electrostatic capacitance of the pen tip is secured by having a user hold the barrel. 3. The touch pen according to claim 1 , wherein the barrel is metal. 4. The touch pen according to claim 1 , wherein the barrel is formed in a shape in which a front end part is cut diagonally. 5. A display device comprising: a touch panel that receives handwriting input; a display unit that displays a trail of handwriting received by the touch panel; and an operating member that performs an input operation with respect to the touch panel, wherein the touch pen according to claim 1 is used as the operating member. 6. The touch pen according to claim 1 , further comprising: a battery provided inside a housing of the body in a central part in the axial direction of the body; and a lid of the side face of the housing of the body openably provided, making it possible to open the lid to remove or replace the battery under the condition that the barrel is removed from the body. 7. The touch pen according to claim 6 , wherein the barrel covers part of a surface of the lid under the condition that the barrel is mounted on the body. 8. The touch pen according to claim 6 , wherein the switch comprises a first switch on front side and a second switch on rear side in the line on a side face of the body; and the lid is placed between the first switch and the second switch.
