The invention claimed is: 1. A window lifter assembly comprising: a guide rail which specifies a moving direction for a window pane to be moved between two end positions, a cable for transmitting a force for moving the window pane, a driver element connected to the window pane and the cable, and a sliding element being a separate component from the driver element, the sliding element being connected to the driver element and being in engagement with the guide rail in order to hold the driver element on the guide rail as the driver element moves along the guide rail, wherein the driver element and the sliding element are assembled via an at least two-stage latching connection, via which the sliding element and the driver element are first connected to each other in a mounting position, and when the sliding element and the driver element are in the mounting position and the window pane is moved to one of the two end positions thereof, the sliding element is shifted along the guide rail to an end position thereof which causes the sliding element to move relative to the driver element from the mounting position to a final installed position. 2. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the latching connection connecting the sliding element and the driver element in the mounting position is releasable. 3. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein at least one latch is configured to cooperate with at least two different latch openings in order to define the mounting position and the final installed position. 4. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the sliding element and the driver element are configured to be manually arranged in the mounting position and connected to each other via the latching connection. 5. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the sliding element is mountable to the guide rail before the sliding element is connected to the driver element. 6. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the driver element further comprises at least two gripping portions at least partly enclosing an edge of the sliding element. 7. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the driver element is formed by an adapter which is integrally molded to a connecting portion of the window pane. 8. The window lifter assembly according to claim 1 , wherein a first latch cooperates with a first latch opening when the sliding element and the driver element are in the mounting position and a second latch cooperates with the first latch opening or a second latch opening when the sliding element and the driver element are in the final installed position. 9. A method of assembling the window lifter assembly of claim 1 , comprising the steps of: mounting the sliding element to the guide rail; manually connecting the sliding element to the driver element so that the sliding element and the driver element are in the mounting position; moving the window pane to the one of the two end positions of the window pane which causes the sliding element to move relative to the driver element from the mounting position to the final installed position.
