We claim: 1. A door assembly including a door frame member, said door assembly comprising: (a) at least one door panel; and (b) the door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and at least a pair of side jambs; wherein at least one frame member of the plurality of frame members includes (i) a core; and (ii) at least one top piece having one or more hollow enclosed cavities, said top piece adjoining said core to form a structural member with said core, said top piece including a rabbet portion and extending along a width of the core from one side of the core to an opposite side of the core to cover a distal end of the core at a distal end of the rabbet portion, and a stop portion, wherein said core extends the length of the top piece between the distal end of the rabbet portion and a distal end of the stop portion. 2. The door assembly of claim 1 including a trim profile. 3. The door assembly according to claim 1 , including a lower portion formed of a decay resistant material. 4. The door assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said top piece is a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. 5. A door assembly, said door assembly comprising: (a) a door frame member including: (i) a core; (ii) a top piece adjoining said core to form a structural member with said core, wherein said top piece includes an enclosed hollow portion, and a stop portion and a rabbet portion adjoining to form a slot, the top piece extending along a width of the core from one side of the core to an opposite side of the core to cover a distal end of the core at a distal end of the rabbet portion, wherein said core extends the length between the distal end of the rabbet portion and a distal end of the stop portion; and (b) a vertically oriented trim profile mating with said core and said top piece. 6. The door assembly according to claim 5 , wherein said door frame member is a door jamb. 7. The door assembly according to claim 5 , wherein said door frame member is a mullion. 8. A door frame member for a door frame assembly, comprising: a hybrid jamb member including: (a) a core, (b) a top piece formed of a rigid extrusion of a cellulosic-plastic composite material, (c) wherein said top piece aligns with said core along the length of the core, a rabbet portion of the top piece extending along a width of the core from one side of the core to an opposite side of the core to cover a distal end of the core at a distal end of the rabbet portion, and a stop portion, wherein said core extends the length of the top piece between the distal end of the rabbet portion and a distal end of the stop portion, and (d) at least one enclosed hollow portion formed in the top piece between a top of the top piece and a base of the top piece. 9. The door frame member according to claim 8 including a trim profile, a length of the trim profile perpendicularly fitted to the length of said core and a length of said top piece.
