A communication system may include a first chassis having first and second side walls and adapted to slidably receive therein a plurality of cassettes. A first cable hanger assembly may have a first side edge hingedly coupled to the first side wall of the first chassis, the first cable hanger assembly including a plurality of first hangers adapted to support cables thereon. An axis of rotation of the first cable hanger assembly may be substantially orthogonal to a direction in which the plurality of cassettes are slideable. The cable hanger assembly may be rotatable from a first position to a second position so that during rotation from the first position to the second position, the plurality of first hangers move toward front faces of the plurality of cassettes.

The invention claimed is: 1. A communication system, comprising: a housing having an open proximal face configured to receive a plurality of patch panel devices therein in a stacked arrangement; a hanger plate assembly including: a first hanger plate having opposing first and second surfaces, the first hanger plate extending from a first edge hingedly coupled to the housing to a second free edge, the first hanger plate adapted to support a first plurality of cables thereon; and a second hanger plate having opposing first and second surfaces, the second hanger plate extending from a first edge hingedly coupled to the housing to a second free edge, wherein the first edge of the first hanger plate and the first edge of the second hanger plate are positioned on opposite sides of the open proximal face of the housing; and a first plurality of hangers connected to the first surface of the first hanger plate in a stacked arrangement, each hanger of the first plurality of hangers adapted to support a respective cable of the plurality of cables thereon, the first hanger plate assembly having a stored condition in which the first surface of the first hanger plate at least partially covers the open proximal face of the housing and an installation condition in which the first surface of the first hanger plate does not cover the open proximal face of the housing, wherein in the stored condition of the hanger plate assembly, the first surface of the first hanger plate at least partially overlies the second surface of the second hanger plate wherein in the stored condition of the hanger plate assembly, the second surface of the second hanger plate is adapted to be positioned between the first plurality of cables supported by the first hanger plate and the plurality of patch panel devices. 2. The communication system of claim 1 , wherein the housing includes a plurality of slots, each slot configured to receive one of the patch panel devices therein. 3. The communication system of claim 2 , wherein the hanger plate assembly includes a number of hangers equal to or greater than a number of patch panel devices received in the plurality of slots. 4. The communication system of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of cable retainers connected to the first surface of the first hanger plate between the first plurality of hangers and the second free edge of the first hanger plate. 5. The communication system of claim 4 , wherein the cable retainers include a rounded portion extending transversely away from the first surface of the first hanger plate. 6. The communication system of claim 5 , wherein the cable retainers include a flat portion coupled to the rounded portion extending toward a top or bottom edge of the first hanger plate. 7. The communication system of claim 1 wherein the first hanger plate includes at least one vertical slot in a top or bottom edge of the hanger plate configured to allow cables of the first plurality of cables to pass from the first surface to the second surface of the first hanger plate. 8. The communication system of claim 7 , wherein the vertical slot is positioned between the first plurality of hangers and the first edge of the first hanger plate. 9. The communication system of claim 7 , wherein the vertical slot is positioned between the first plurality of hangers and the second free edge of the first hanger plate. 10. The communication system of claim 1 , wherein in the stored condition of the hanger plate assembly, the housing, the first hanger plate and the second hanger plate are collectively substantially cylindrical. 11. The communication system of claim 1 , further comprising a second plurality of hangers connected to the first surface of the second hanger plate in a stacked arrangement, each hanger of the second plurality of hangers adapted to support a respective cable of a second plurality of cables thereon, wherein the first surface of the second hanger plate at least partially covers the open proximal face of the housing in the stored condition and the first surface of the second hanger plate does not cover the open proximal face of the housing in the installation condition. 12. The communication system of claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of patch panel devices includes a cassette having a first plurality of connectors along a front face of the cassette and a second plurality of connectors along a rear face of the cassette, wherein the hanger plate assembly is adapted to permit the first plurality of cables supported by the first plurality of hangers to connect to the first plurality of connectors, and to permit the second plurality of cables supported by the second plurality of hangers to connect to the second plurality of connectors, in each of the stored and installation conditions. 13. The communication system of claim 12 , wherein the hanger plate assembly is adapted to permit the first plurality of cables supported by the first plurality of hangers to connect to the first plurality of connectors along a first path, and to permit the second plurality of cables supported by the second plurality of hangers to connect to the second plurality of connectors along a second path, and wherein each of the first and second paths is substantially the same in each of the installation condition and the stored condition. 14. A communication system, comprising: a housing having an open proximal face configured to receive a plurality of patch panel devices therein in a stacked arrangement; a hanger plate assembly including: a first hanger plate having opposing first and second surfaces, the first hanger plate extending from a first edge hingedly coupled to the housing to a second free edge; and a second hanger plate having opposing first and second surfaces, the second hanger plate extending from a first edge hingedly coupled to the housing to a second free edge, wherein the first edge of the first hanger plate and the first edge of the second hanger plate are positioned on opposite sides of the open proximal face of the housing; a first plurality of hangers connected to the first surface of the first hanger plate in a stacked arrangement, each hanger of the first plurality of hangers adapted to support a cable thereon, the first hanger plate assembly having a stored condition in which the first surface of the first hanger plate at least partially covers the open proximal face of the housing and an installation condition in which the first surface of the first hanger plate does not cover the open proximal face of the housing, wherein in the stored condition of the hanger plate assembly, the first surface of the first hanger plate at least partially overlies the second surface of the second hanger plate; a cover having sidewalls, a closed top, and a bottom edge, and configured to fit over the housing when the hanger plate assembly is in the stored condition; and a base configured to be coupled to the cover, wherein the base includes a plurality of apertures, at least one aperture adapted to receive: a connector configured to secure the base to a frame; and at least one gasket configured to maintain a seal in the aperture regardless of differences between thermal expansion rates of the connector and base. 15.
