An object t of the present invention is to proroaide crystal of a cyclic phosphonic acid sodium salt (2ccPA) with high purity and excellent storage stability and a method for producing the crystal. The present invention provides a crystal of a cyclic phosphonic acid sodium salt (2ccPA) represented by formula (1):

The invention claimed is: 1. A method for producing a compound represented by formula (6): wherein two R 1 groups are the same or different and represent alkyl, arylalkyl, or aryl; and two R 2 groups are the same or different and represent alkyl, cycloalkyl, or aryl, the method comprising step (I)) of reacting a compound represented by formula (5): wherein R 2 is as defined above; and X represents a halogen atom with a phosphorous acid diester.
