According to one embodiment, provided is a secondary battery including an aqueous electrolyte, a positive electrode, and a negative electrode. A compound containing an element A is present on at least a part of the surface of the negative electrode. The element A is at least one selected from the group consisting of Hg, Pb, Zn, and Bi. According to scanning electron microscopy, a region where the compound containing the element A is present accounts for 50% of more of the surface of the negative electrode.

What is claimed is: 1. A secondary battery, comprising: an aqueous electrolyte comprising a surfactant; a positive electrode; and a negative electrode, a compound comprising an element A being present on at least a part of a surface of the negative electrode, the element A being at least one selected from the group consisting of Hg, Pb, Zn, and Bi, and, according to scanning electron microscopy, a region where the compound comprising the element A is present accounting for 50% or more of an area of the surface of the negative electrode. 2. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the region where the compound comprising the element A is present accounts for 70% or more of the area of the surface of the negative electrode. 3. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the negative electrode comprises a negative electrode active material. 4. The secondary battery according to claim 3 , wherein the negative electrode further comprises a current collector and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on the current collector, the negative electrode active material layer comprises the negative electrode active material, and the current collector comprises the element A. 5. The secondary battery according to claim 3 , wherein the negative electrode active material comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of an oxide of titanium, lithium titanium oxide, and lithium titanium composite oxide. 6. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the aqueous electrolyte comprises the element A. 7. A battery pack comprising the secondary battery according to claim 1 . 8. The battery pack according to claim 7 , further comprising an external power distribution terminal and a protective circuit. 9. The battery pack according to claim 7 , further comprising plural of the secondary battery, wherein the secondary batteries are electrically connected in series, in parallel, or in combination of in-series connection and in-parallel connection. 10. A vehicle comprising the battery pack according to claim 7 . 11. The vehicle according to claim 10 , wherein the battery pack is configured to recover a regenerative energy of power of the vehicle. 12. The vehicle according to claim 10 , which comprises a mechanism configured to convert kinetic energy of the vehicle into regenerative energy. 13. A stationary power supply comprising the battery pack according to claim 7 . 14. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the surfactant comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, nonylphenyl eicosaethylene glycol ether, thiourea, disodium 3,3′-dithio bis (1-propanphosphate), dimercaptothiadiazole, boric acid, oxalic acid, and malonic acid. 15. The secondary battery according to claim 3 , wherein the negative electrode further comprises a current collector and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on the current collector, wherein the negative electrode active material layer comprises the negative electrode active material, and wherein the current collector is a metal foil made of Zn, Ga, In, Bi, Tl, Sn, Pb, Ti, or Al. 16. The secondary battery according to claim 3 , wherein the negative electrode further comprises a current collector and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on the current collector, wherein the negative electrode active material layer comprises the negative electrode active material, and wherein the current collector is a foil made of an alloy comprising at least one element selected from the group consisting of Zn, Ga, In, Bi, Tl, Sn, Pb, Ti, and Al. 17. The secondary battery according to claim 3 , wherein the negative electrode further comprises a current collector and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on the current collector, wherein the negative electrode active material layer comprises the negative electrode active material, and wherein the current collector comprises a substrate and the element A on at least a part of a surface of the substrate, wherein the substrate comprises a metal different from the element A. 18. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the region where the compound comprising the element A is present accounts for up to 91% of the area of the surface of the negative electrode. 19. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the region where the compound comprising the element A is present accounts for 75% or more of the area of the surface of the negative electrode. 20. The secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the region where the compound comprising the element A is present accounts for 60% or more of the area of the surface of the negative electrode, wherein the negative electrode comprises Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 , TiO 2, or TiNb 2 O 7 , and wherein the positive electrode comprises LiMn 2 O 4 , NaMn 2 O 4 , LiCoO 2 , LiFePO 4 , LiCoPO 4 , LiFe 0.9 Mn 0.1 PO 4 , LiFeSO 4 F, LiNi 0.95 Al 0.05 O 2 , LiMn 0.9 Co 0.1 O 2 ,LiMN 0.8 Ni 0.2 O 2 , or LiNi 0.8 Co 0.1 Mn 0.1 0 2 .
