Disclosed is one example of a sliding device in which occurrence of damage of a member closing an opening of a fixed rail can be inhibited. The sliding device includes: a fixed rail including an opening opened upward, the opening being arranged in a longitudinal direction of the fixed rail; a movable rail slidable relative to the fixed rail in a state where at least part of the movable rail is exposed through the opening; and a first closure member slidable relative to the fixed rail and capable of closing at least part of the opening, the first closure member receiving a force from the movable rail to thereby slide in a state where an opposed surface opposed to the movable rail is spaced apart from the movable rail via a clearance. The movable rail includes a support portion that supports the first closure member in a slidable manner.

What is claimed is: 1. A sliding device comprising: a fixed rail configured to be fixed to a vehicle, the fixed rail comprising an opening opened upward, the opening being arranged in a longitudinal direction of the fixed rail; a movable rail to which a seat body of a vehicle seat is configured to be fixed, the movable rail being slidable with respect to the fixed rail in a state where at least part of the movable rail is exposed through the opening; and a first closure member slidable with respect to the fixed rail and capable of closing at least part of the opening, the first closure member receiving a force from the movable rail to thereby slide in a state where an opposed surface opposed to the movable rail is spaced apart from the movable rail via a clearance, wherein the movable rail comprises a support portion that supports the first closure member in a slidable manner, wherein the support portion supports the first closure member from below. 2. The sliding device according to claim 1 , further comprising an elastic portion that exerts an elastic force oriented in a direction to space the opposed surface apart from the movable rail. 3. The sliding device according to claim 2 , wherein the movable rail comprises: a rail body of metal to which the seat body is configured to be fixed; and an end cap attached to a longitudinal end of the rail body, wherein the elastic portion and the support portion are provided to the end cap, and wherein the elastic portion is shaped like a flat spring extending from the end cap into the rail body. 4. The sliding device according to claim 3 , wherein a cross-section of the first closure member orthogonal to a sliding direction thereof has a substantially U-shape with its lower side opened, the substantially U-shape comprising: the opposed surface; a first wall; and a second wall facing the first wall in substantially horizontal directions, wherein the support portion comprises: a first sliding-contact surface in sliding contact with a lower end of the first wall; and a second sliding-contact surface in sliding contact with a lower end of the second wall, wherein the first sliding-contact surface is inclined such that an end of the first sliding-contact surface closer to the second wall is higher than an end of the first sliding-contact surface closer to the first wall, and wherein the second sliding-contact surface is inclined such that an end of the second sliding-contact surface closer to the first wall is higher than an end of the second sliding-contact surface closer to the second wall. 5. The sliding device according to claim 4 , wherein the lower end of the first wall and the lower end of the second wall are supported by the support portion in a state elastically displaced in mutually approaching directions. 6. The sliding device according to claim 1 , further comprising: a second closure member slidable with respect to the fixed rail and capable of closing at least part of the opening in cooperation with the first closure member, the second closure member being in sliding contact with an inside wall surface of the first closure member and receiving a force from the movable rail to thereby slide; a screw rod arranged within the fixed rail and extending in a longitudinal direction of the fixed rail; and a retaining bracket that retains the screw rod, wherein the movable rail comprises a nut engaged with the screw rod, and wherein an upper end of the movable rail, an upper end of the first closure member, an upper end of the second closure member, and an upper end of the retaining bracket are arranged in this order from top to bottom. 7. The sliding device according to claim 1 , wherein the support portion is in sliding contact with the first closure member. 8. A vehicle seat mounted to a vehicle, the vehicle seat comprising: a seat body comprising at least a seat cushion; and a sliding device according to claim 1 that supports the seat body in a slidable manner.
