Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method for displaying content displayed on one or more first devices on a second device is provided. The method includes receiving a request to display content currently displayed on a first device on a second device, the request including a gesture made on a screen of the first device, and pairing the first device to the second device. The method further includes transmitting instructions to the second device to display the content currently displayed on the first device, and transmitting the content currently displayed on the first device to the second device for display thereon.

What is claimed is: 1. A system, comprising: at least one processor; and a memory coupled to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform a method, comprising: displaying content on a first device; determining whether the first device is communicatively coupled to a second device, wherein determining that the first device is communicatively coupled to the second device comprises determining whether the first device is communicatively coupled to a wireless network and the second device is communicatively coupled to the same wireless network; when it is determined that the first device is communicatively coupled to the second device and in response to directional input received on the first device: automatically transferring the content that is displayed on the first device to the second device such that the content is concurrently displayed on the first device and on the second device; detecting another input received by the first device; and causing the second device to display one or more changes to the content based, at least in part, on the another input received by the first device. 2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for: determining a destination address associated with the second device, wherein the content is transferred from the first device to the second device based, at least in part, on the destination address. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the content is dynamic content. 4. The system of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for: detecting a third device on the wireless network; and receiving input that selects one or more of the second device and third device that will concurrently display the transferred content with the first device. 5. The system of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for using the first device to control the content when it is displayed on the second device. 6. The system of claim 5 , further comprising instructions for displaying one or more input items on the first device to control the content when it is displayed on the second device. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the directional input is a gesture. 8. The system of claim 1 , further comprising instructions for causing the content to be removed from the second device in response to an additional input received on the first device. 9. A system, comprising: at least one processor; and a non-transitory memory coupled to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform operations, comprising: displaying content on a first device; detecting a gesture received on a display of the first device, the first device being coupled to a network; in response to the gesture, automatically transferring content from the first device to the second device over the network; causing the second device to display the transferred content; and causing the content to be removed from the second device in response to a subsequent input received on the display of the first device. 10. The system of claim 9 , further comprising instructions for determining whether the second device is configured to display the content. 11. The system of claim 9 , further comprising instructions for controlling the content displayed by the second device in response to receiving control input on the display of the first device. 12. The system of claim 9 , wherein the gesture is associated with a direction. 13. The system of claim 9 , wherein the network is a local area network. 14. The system of claim 9 , wherein the content is dynamic content. 15. The system of claim 9 , further comprising instructions for causing the second device to display one or more changes to the content prior to the content being removed from the second device. 16. A method, comprising: displaying content on a first device; receiving a first gesture via a user interface on the first device, the first gesture comprising an instruction to transfer, over a network to which both the first device and a second device are connected, the content from the first device to the second device; in response to the first gesture, automatically causing the first device and the second device to concurrently display the content; and causing the content to be removed from the second device in response to receiving a second gesture received via the user interface on the first device. 17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising using the first device to control a display of the content when the content is displayed on the second device. 18. The method of claim 17 , further comprising generating and displaying one or more input mechanisms on the first device when the content has been transferred to the second device, the one or more input mechanisms for controlling the display of the content. 19. The method of claim 16 , wherein the gesture is associated with a direction. 20. The method of claim 16 , wherein the content is dynamic content.
