The present invention relates to a novel ligand compound represented by Formula 1 and a novel transition metal compound represented by Formula 2, and the novel ligand compound and transition metal compound according to the present invention has high comonomer incorporation effect in the preparation of an olefinic polymer having a low density and a high molecular weight, and thus can be usefully used as a catalyst for a polymerization reaction.

The invention claimed is: 1. A ligand compound represented by the following Formula 1: in Formula 1, R 1 to R 9 each independently represent hydrogen, a silyl, an alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkenyl having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, an aryl having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkylaryl having 7 to 20 carbon atoms, an arylalkyl having 7 to 20 carbon atoms or a metalloid radical of a Group 14 metal substituted with a hydrocarbyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; two or more adjacent groups of the R 1 to R 8 are optionally connected to each other to form an aliphatic ring having 5 to 20 carbon atoms or an aromatic ring having 6 to 20 carbon atoms; the aliphatic ring or aromatic ring is optionally substituted with a halogen, an alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkenyl having 2 to 20 carbon atoms or an aryl having 6 to 20 carbon atoms; and n is 1 or 2. 2. The ligand compound according to claim 1 , wherein, in Formula 1, R 1 to R 9 each independently represent hydrogen, an alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an aryl having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkylaryl having 7 to 20 carbon atoms, or an arylalkyl having 7 to 20 carbon atoms; two or more adjacent groups of the R 1 to R 8 are optionally connected to each other to form an aliphatic ring having 5 to 20 carbon atoms or an aromatic ring having 6 to 20 carbon atoms; and the aliphatic ring or aromatic ring is optionally substituted with a halogen, an alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or an aryl having 6 to 20 carbon atoms. 3. The ligand compound according to claim 1 , wherein the compound of Formula 1 is one of the following compounds:
