A coated rubber composition includes a rubber composition coated with a liquid refresh agent selected from the group consisting of one or more liquid terpenes, limonene, carvone, pinene, pine needle oil, citral, orange oil, C9-C15 aliphatics, C9-C15 cycloaliphatics, ethyl lactate, dipentene, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, citronellene, terpinen-4-ol, and combinations thereof. A method of application and a coated rubber composition are also disclosed.

What is claimed is: 1. A coated rubber composition comprising a rubber composition and a coating, wherein the coating is a liquid refresh agent selected from the group consisting of: one or more liquid terpenes, limonene, carvone, pinene, pine needle oil, citral, orange oil, dodecane, decane, undecane, dipentene, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, citronellene, terpinen-4-ol, and combinations thereof; wherein the coating has an evaporation rate of about 0.1 mg/min to about 8 mg/min at 25° C. and 1 atm pressure; wherein the rubber composition comprises wax and a rubber polymer with a polydispersity (Mw/Mn) of about 1.5 to about 6.0; wherein the rubber composition is uncured. 2. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the coating has a viscosity at 25° C. of about 0.0001 to about 100 cP. 3. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein all tack-improving agents or adhesives coated on the rubber composition consist essentially of the liquid refresh agent. 4. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the flash point of the coating is about 60° C. to about 100° C. 5. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the refresh agent is dodecane. 6. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the refresh agent is selected from the group consisting of: carvone, citral, dodecane, decane, undecane, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, and combinations thereof. 7. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the rubber composition further comprises 50 to about 100 phr of a reinforcing filler. 8. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , further comprising a carbon black reinforcing filler. 9. The coated rubber composition of claim 7 , wherein the reinforcing filler is carbon black. 10. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the rubber composition further comprises about 70 to about 100 phr of reinforcing filler. 11. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the rubber composition is a component of a rubber air spring or a tire. 12. The coated rubber composition of claim 1 , wherein the liquid refresh agent consists essentially of a selection from the group consisting of: one or more liquid terpenes, limonene, carvone, pinene, pine needle oil, citral, orange oil, dodecane, decane, undecane, dipentene, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, citronellene, terpinen-4-ol, and combinations thereof. 13. An article of manufacture comprising: a first uncured rubber component comprising an elastomer selected from the group consisting of: polychloroprene, butyl rubber, hevea and non-hevea natural rubber, polyisoprene, polybutadiene, nitrile rubber, poly(isoprene-styrene), poly(isoprene-butadiene), poly(styrene-butadiene), terpolymers of isoprene, styrene, and butadiene, and combinations thereof, the first uncured rubber component having a polydispersity (Mw/Mn) of about 1.5 to about 6; a wax; the first uncured rubber component including a first coated surface, the first coated surface coated with an organic liquid having the following characteristics: an evaporation rate of about 0.1 mg/min to about 8 mg/min at 25° C. and 1 atm pressure; and a flash point of about 30° C. to about 100° C., and wherein the organic liquid is selected from the group consisting of: one or more liquid terpenes, limonene, carvone, pinene, pine needle oil, citral, orange oil, dodecane, decane, undecane, dipentene, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, citronellene, terpinen-4-ol, and combinations thereof. 14. The article of manufacture of claim 13 , wherein the organic liquid has a viscosity at 25° C. of about 0.0001 to about 100 cP. 15. The article of manufacture of claim 13 , wherein the organic liquid is selected from the group consisting of: carvone citral, dodecane, decane, undecane, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, and combinations thereof. 16. The article of manufacture of claim 13 , further comprising: a second uncured rubber component comprising an elastomer selected from the group consisting of: polychloroprene, butyl rubber, hevea and non-hevea natural rubber, polyisoprene, polybutadiene, nitrile rubber, poly(isoprene-styrene), poly(isoprene-butadiene), poly(styrene-butadiene), terpolymers of isoprene, styrene, and butadiene, and combinations thereof; the second uncured rubber component being joined to the first coated surface of the uncured rubber component at an interface. 17. The article of manufacture of claim 13 , wherein the first coated surface is joined to an overlapping or butt-end portion of the first uncured rubber component. 18. The article of manufacture of claim 13 , further comprising a second uncured rubber component comprising an elastomer selected from the group consisting of: polychloroprene, butyl rubber, hevea and non-hevea natural rubber, polyisoprene, polybutadiene, nitrile rubber, poly(isoprene-styrene), poly(isoprene-butadiene), poly(styrene-butadiene), terpolymers of isoprene, styrene, and butadiene, and combinations thereof; the second uncured rubber component including a second coated surface, the second coated surface comprising an organic liquid selected from the group consisting of: one or more terpenes, polylimonene, limonene, carvone, α-pinene, pine needle oil, citral, orange oil, dodecane, dipentene, 1,8-cineole, eucalyptol, citronellol, geraniol, citronellene, terpinen-4-ol, borneol, camphor, guayule resin, and combinations thereof; the second coated surface of the second uncured rubber component being j oined to the first coated surface of the first uncured rubber component at an interface. 19. The article of manufacture of claim 13 , wherein the article is a rubber air spring or a tire component.
