Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A lawn mower robot includes a rotating plate rotatably mounted on a bottom surface of an inner body; and a plurality of blades coupled to an edge portion of the rotating plate to be unfolded in a centrifugal direction and folded in the direction of the center of the circle, and spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the rotating plate to cut grass while rotating around a rotating shaft of the rotating plate, wherein at least one of the blades has a cross-sectional shape of a parallelogram and is formed of a plate having a predetermined width in a longitudinal direction.

What is claimed is: 1. A lawn mower robot, comprising: an inner body; an outer cover configured to be coupled to an outer side of the inner body; wheels rotatably provided at sides of the inner body; a drive motor having a rotation shaft; a coupler coupled to the rotation shaft and having an outer circumferential surface with an elliptical shape in a horizontal direction; a rotating plate rotatably mounted on the coupler at a bottom surface of the inner body, and disposed to be inclined downward with respect to a horizontal plane from a rear side of the inner body to a front side of the inner body; a plurality of blades rotatably coupled to an edge portion of the rotating plate and configured to be unfolded by centrifugal force in a radial direction of the rotating plate and folded in toward the rotating plate, the plurality of blades being spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the rotating plate to cut grass while the rotating plate is rotating around the rotation shaft; and a blade protection cover formed to be spaced apart from the blades and provided to cover the plurality of blades to prevent ejection of objects through the outer cover, wherein the plurality of blades have a plate shape with a predetermined width in a longitudinal direction and a cross-section in a parallelogram shape, wherein a plurality of protruding portions downwardly protrude from a bottom surface of the rotating plate, a first end portion of each of the plurality of blades is rotatably mounted on a bottom surface of one of the protruding portions, and a second end portion of each of the plurality of blades is rotated to be folded or unfolded with respect to the rotating plate, wherein the plurality of protruding portions are configured such that each of the plurality of blades is rotatable along an axis corresponding to the rotation shaft, and wherein a shaft coupling portion protrudes from an upper surface of the rotating plate and forms a groove to receive at least a portion of the coupler, the groove having an elliptically curved shape corresponding to the outer circumferential surface of the coupler. 2. The lawn mower robot of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of blades includes four blades that are provided at equal intervals along a circumferential direction of the rotating plate. 3. The lawn mower robot of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of blades are fastened to the bottom surface of the rotating plate. 4. The lawn mower robot of claim 3 , wherein the rotating plate includes blade mounting portions provided on the bottom surface of the rotating plate, wherein the mounting portions include the plurality of protruding portions that protrude a prescribed distance from the bottom surface of the rotating plate to separate the blades from the rotating plate while the blades rotate. 5. The lawn mower robot of claim 4 , wherein the rotating plate includes a chamfered portion at a distal end of each of the protruding portions and formed to be tapered from each of the protruding portions. 6. The lawn mower robot of claim 1 , wherein the blade includes a first side surface that includes a cutting surface and a second side surface opposite the first side surface, the cutting surface being angled relative to top and bottom surfaces of the blade such that an angle between the cutting surface and the top surface is less than an angle between the cutting surface and the bottom surface. 7. The lawn mower robot of claim 1 , wherein a bolt is configured to be inserted through an opening at a central portion of the rotating plate and fastened to the coupler so that the rotation shaft is perpendicularly coupled to the rotating plate. 8. The lawn mower robot of claim 1 , wherein a plurality of protrusions are arranged on a circular arc at a front side of the blade protection cover and spaced apart from each other at prescribed intervals. 9. A lawn mower robot, comprising: an inner body; an outer cover coupled to an outer surface of the inner body; wheels rotatably provided at sides of the inner body; a rotating plate rotatably mounted on a bottom surface of the inner body, and inclined downward with respect to a horizontal plane between a rear side of the inner body and a front side of the inner body; a plurality of blades rotatably coupled to an edge portion of the rotating plate and configured to be unfolded by centrifugal force in a radial direction of the rotating plate and folded in toward the rotating plate, the plurality of blades being spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the rotating plate to cut grass while rotating around a rotating shaft of the rotating plate; and a blade protection cover formed to be spaced apart from the plurality of blades and provided to cover the plurality of blades to prevent ejection of objects through the outer cover, wherein the plurality of blades have a plate shape with a particular width in a longitudinal direction and a cross-section in a parallelogram shape, wherein a plurality of protrusions are arranged on a circular arc at a front side of the blade protection cover and are spaced apart from each other, and wherein the plurality of protrusions are positioned such that an interval between adjacent ones of the protrusions at a front center of the blade protection cover is greater than between adjacent ones of the protrusions positioned toward a side of the protection cover. 10. The lawn mower robot of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of protrusions are provided parallel to each other to form channels and are partially overlapped with each other in a lateral direction from the front center of the blade protection cover. 11. The lawn mower robot of claim 10 , wherein each of the plurality of protrusions has a front surface, a front angled surface that extends from the front surface, and a rear angled surface that extends from the front angled surface, and wherein a length of the rear angled surface is greater than a length of the front angled surface, and the rear angled surface is angled to deflect projectiles from the blades down toward the ground. 12. The lawn mower robot of claim 1 , further comprising: a height adjusting unit provided on the blade protection cover to adjust a height of the blade protection cover and the plurality of blades, wherein the height adjusting unit includes: a receiving portion provided at an inner side of the inner body to form an accommodation space in a vertical direction; a lifting frame installed within the receiving portion and provided with a first spiral protrusion at an inner side of the lifting frame; a rotating cylindrical portion having a second spiral protrusion on an outer circumferential surface and rotatably coupled to the first spiral protrusion to move the rotating cylindrical portion and the blades up and down relative to the lifting frame; and a height adjusting lever mounted on an upper portion of the rotating cylindrical portion to rotate the rotating cylindrical portion. 13.
