The invention claimed is: 1. An article comprising: a. a carrier split along a portion of a length to create a plurality of end extensions each having a hinge portion, a pair of the plurality of end extensions forming a U-clip at a first end of the carrier, wherein an interior surface of each of the pair of end extensions forms a channel therebetween; b. an activatable material disposed on the carrier, wherein the activatable material includes at least one hinge portion that aligns with at least one of the hinge portions of the plurality of end extensions so that the activatable material is flexible about the at least one hinge portion of the activatable material, the at least one hinge portion of the activatable material being formed of a localized change in thickness of the activatable material; and c. a plurality of carrier extensions extending from the carrier, each carrier extension having the activatable material extend co-extensively with the carrier extension; wherein the channel is free of activatable material and the activatable material is disposed on an exterior surface of the pair of end extensions that opposes the interior surface; and wherein a second end of the carrier opposing the first end is free of the plurality of end extensions and the channel therebetween, and the activatable material covers the second end. 2. The article of claim 1 , wherein one or more activatable material extensions extend from the activatable material. 3. The article of claim 2 , wherein the carrier includes one or more fasteners. 4. The article of claim 3 , wherein at least one fastener is located in a differing plane from at least one other fastener. 5. The article of claim 3 , wherein the activatable material is at least partially disposed on at least one fastener. 6. The article of claim 2 , wherein the activatable material has a curved profile. 7. The article of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of carrier extensions extend into the activatable material. 8. The article of claim 1 , wherein the carrier is flexible about the hinge portions of the plurality of end extensions. 9. The article of claim 1 , wherein the carrier is comprised of a pliable material. 10. The article of claim 1 , wherein portions of the carrier are located in different planes from one another. 11. The article of claim 1 , wherein the carrier forms a circle or a portion of a circle. 12. The article of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of carrier extensions extend outward radially from the carrier. 13. The article of claim 1 , wherein the carrier splits into two distinct connected portions that both extend from the carrier. 14. The article of claim 1 , wherein the channel only extends partially along the length of the carrier. 15. The article of claim 1 any of the preceding claims, wherein the activatable material extends beyond an end of the carrier. 16. The article of claim 1 , wherein the activatable material is disposed on the carrier between the plurality of carrier extensions. 17. The article of claim 1 , wherein the channel is wider at an opening of the channel located near a terminal end of the pair of end extensions and the channel narrows as it continues along the length of the carrier towards a center of the carrier. 18. The article of claim 1 , wherein the activatable material covers a terminal end of each of the pair of end extensions, and the interior surface of each of the pair of end extensions is free of the activatable material.
