The invention claimed is: 1. A compound of Formula (A) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, clathrate, prodrug, or stereoisomer thereof. 2. A method for treating histone deacetylase (HDAC) responsive cancer in a subject, comprising inhibiting HDAC by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of claim 1 . 3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising administering to said subject an additional form of therapy for cancer. 4. A method for treating a histone deacetylase (HDAC) responsive blood disorder in a subject, comprising inhibiting HDAC by administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of claim 1 . 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the blood disorder is at least one of a hemoglobinopathy or a thalassemia. 6. The method of claim 4 , further comprising administering to said subject an additional form of therapy for said blood disorder. 7. The method of claim 2 , wherein the subject is human. 8. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of claim 1 and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient wherein the pharmaceutical composition is useful for treating cancer in a subject. 9. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of claim 1 and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient wherein the pharmaceutical composition is useful for treating a blood disorder in a subject. 10. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 9 , wherein the blood disorder is at least one of a hemoglobinopathy or a thalassemia. 11. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 8 , wherein the subject is human. 12. The compound of claim 1 , further comprising a radiolabel.
