An oral care device such as an oral care implement or a toothbrush. The oral care device may include a handle and a head. The head may have a plurality of cleaning elements extending therefrom. The head may comprise a channel and a plurality of electrodes may be located within the channel. The electrodes may be coupled to a power source. The electrodes may be used to generate a chemical agent via the application of an electrical potential across the electrodes when in communication with an electrolyte. The chemical agents may include ozone, hydrogen peroxide, peroxide, chlorine hypochlorite, ions, peroxides, and/or other chemical agents.

What is claimed is: 1. An oral care device comprising: a head comprising a longitudinal axis, a front surface, an opposite rear surface, a channel defined by an inner wall, a first opening formed into the front surface, and a second opening formed into the rear surface, the channel extending through the head from the first opening to the second opening; and a plurality of electrodes coupled to the head and positioned within the channel, the plurality of electrodes comprising: a first electrode and a second electrode coupled to the inner wall on a first side of the longitudinal axis and spaced apart in a direction of the longitudinal axis by a first gap; and a third electrode coupled to the inner wall on a second side of the longitudinal axis, the third electrode extending into the first gap between the first and second electrodes. 2. The oral care device according to claim 1 further comprising a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from the front surface of the head. 3. The oral care device according to claim 1 further comprising a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from the front surface of the head and defining a tooth cleaning element field, the tooth cleaning element field terminating in a distal end having an opening therein, and further comprising a passageway extending from the opening in the distal end of the tooth cleaning element field to the channel. 4. The oral care device according to claim 1 wherein no portion of the plurality of electrodes protrudes beyond the front or rear surfaces of the head. 5. The oral care device according to claim 1 further comprising a fourth electrode coupled to the inner wall on the second side of the longitudinal axis, the third and fourth electrodes being spaced apart from one another in a direction of the longitudinal axis by a second gap, and wherein one of the first and second electrodes extends into the second gap. 6. The oral care device according to claim 1 further comprising a power source operably coupled to each of the plurality of electrodes. 7. An oral care device comprising: a head comprising a longitudinal axis, a front surface, an opposite rear surface, a channel defined by an inner wall, and a first opening formed into the front surface; a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from the front surface of the head; and a plurality of electrodes coupled to the head and positioned within the channel, the plurality of electrodes comprising: a first electrode and a second electrode coupled to the inner wall on a first side of the longitudinal axis and spaced apart in a direction of the longitudinal axis by a first gap; and a third electrode coupled to the inner wall on a second side of the longitudinal axis, the third electrode extending into the first gap between the first and second electrodes; wherein the plurality of tooth cleaning elements collectively define a tooth cleaning element field, the tooth cleaning element field comprising an inner surface that surrounds a cavity that is fluidly coupled to the first opening and to the channel. 8. An oral care device comprising: a head comprising a longitudinal axis, a front surface, an opposite rear surface, a channel defined by an inner wall; and a plurality of electrodes coupled to the head and positioned within the channel, the plurality of electrodes comprising: a first electrode and a second electrode coupled to the inner wall on a first side of the longitudinal axis and spaced apart in a direction of the longitudinal axis by a first gap; and a third electrode coupled to the inner wall on a second side of the longitudinal axis, the third electrode extending into the first gap between the first and second electrodes; wherein each of the plurality of electrodes is unsupported at a distal end thereof such that each of the plurality of electrodes is coupled to the inner wall in a cantilevered manner. 9. An oral care device comprising: a head comprising a longitudinal axis, a front surface, an opposite rear surface, and a channel defined by an inner wall, the channel extending from an opening in the front surface of the head to an opening in the rear surface of the head; a plurality of electrodes coupled to the head and positioned within the channel; a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from the front surface of the head, the plurality of tooth cleaning elements collectively defining a tooth cleaning element field, the tooth cleaning element field terminating in a distal end having an opening therein; and a passageway extending from the opening in the distal end of the tooth cleaning element field to the channel. 10. The oral care device according to claim 9 wherein the passageway is aligned with the channel. 11. The oral care device according to claim 9 wherein each of the plurality of electrodes is unsupported at a distal end thereof such that each of the plurality of electrodes is coupled to the inner wall in a cantilevered manner. 12. The oral care device according to claim 9 wherein no portion of the plurality of electrodes protrudes beyond the front or rear surfaces of the head. 13. The oral care device according to claim 9 further comprising a power supply operably coupled to each of the plurality of electrodes.
