Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Described herein are compositions comprising an acidifier intermixed with an emulsifier and a co-surfactant that form stable microemulsions in water. Also described are methods of dispersing a compound in an aqueous solution using the compositions of the present invention.

What is claimed is: 1. A microemulsion that is a clear, isotropic, thermodynamically stable liquid, the microemulsion comprising: 15-40.5% by weight liquid lecithin; 1-10% by weight fatty acids; 5-30% by weight of a co-surfactant selected from the group consisting of ethoxylated monoglycerides, fatty acid ethoxylates, polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers, polyoxyethylene alkyl esters, sorbitan alkyl esters, propylene glycol, glycerol, glycols, polyoxyethylene sorbitan alkyl esters, glycerol esters, polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate, derivatives of any thereof and combinations of any thereof; 5-45% by weight lactic acid; sodium lactate; ethyl lactate; and an ester. 2. The microemulsion of claim 1 , wherein the ester is soy methyl esters. 3. An agrochemical composition comprising: 0.1-1% by weight of a microemulsion that is a clear, isotropic, thermodynamically stable liquid, the microemulsion comprising: 15-40.5% by weight liquid lecithin; 1-10% by weight fatty acids; 5-30% by weight of a co-surfactant selected from the group consisting of ethoxylated monoglycerides, fatty acid ethoxylates, polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers, polyoxyethylene alkyl esters, sorbitan alkyl esters, propylene glycol, glycerol, glycols, polyoxyethylene sorbitan alkyl esters, glycerol esters, polyoxyethylene (20) sorbitan monooleate, derivatives of any thereof and combinations of any thereof; 5-45% by weight of an acidifier; a salt of an acidifier; an ester of an acidifier; and an ester; an agrochemical solution selected from the group consisting of a biocide, herbicide, fungicide, nematicide, pesticide, and miticide; and water; wherein the microemulsion and the agrochemical solution are dispersed in the water. 4. The agrochemical composition of claim 3 , further comprising an oil. 5. The agrochemical composition of claim 3 , wherein the co-surfactant is selected from the group consisting of ethoxylated monoglycerides, polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate, and combinations thereof. 6. The agrochemical composition of claim 3 , wherein the acidifier is lactic acid.
