A curable composition having satisfactory curability, capable of forming a cured product having satisfactory heat resistance and adhesion to a base material, a cured film made of a cured product of the curable composition, a display panel provided with the cured film, and a method for producing a cured product using the above-mentioned curable composition. The curable composition includes a curable compound and a thermal cationic polymerization initiator, the curable compound contains a cationic polymerizable compound containing, as a main skeleton, a fused ring in which three or more rings including an aromatic ring are fused, and the thermal cationic polymerization initiator contains a quaternary ammonium salt-type compound having a specific structure.

What is claimed is: 1. A curable composition comprising: (A) a curable compound and (B) a thermal cationic polymerization initiator, wherein the curable compound (A) comprises a compound represented by the following formula (a1), and the thermal cationic polymerization initiator (B) comprises a compound comprising the cation moiety and the anion moiety, wherein the cation moiety is a cation represented by the following formula (b1): wherein, in the formula (a1), W 1 and W 2 each independently represents a group represented by the following formula (a2): wherein, in the formula (a2), a ring Z represents an aromatic hydrocarbon ring, X represents a single bond or a group represented by —S—, R 1 represents a single bond, an alkylene group having 1 or more and 4 or less carbon atoms, or an alkyleneoxy group having 1 or more and 4 or less carbon atoms, and when R 1 is an alkyleneoxy group, the oxygen atom in the alkyleneoxy group is bonded with a ring Z, R 2 represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group, a hydroxyl group, a group represented by —OR 4a , a group represented by —SR 4b , an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a mercapto group, a carboxy group, an amino group, a carbamoyl group, a group represented by —NHR 4c , a group represented by —N(R 4d ) 2 , a sulfo group, or, a monovalent hydrocarbon group, a group represented by —OR 4a , a group represented by —SR 4b , an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a group represented by —NHR 4 c, or a group represented by —N(R 4d ) 2 in which group at least a part of the hydrogen atoms bonded to the carbon atom included therein is/are substituted with a monovalent hydrocarbon group, a hydroxyl group, a group represented by —OR 4a , a group represented by —SR 4b , an acyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group, a mercapto group, a carboxyl group, an amino group, a carbamoyl group, a group represented by —NHR 4c , a group represented by —N(R 4d ) 2 , a mesyloxy group, or a sulfo group, R 4a to R 4d independently represent a monovalent hydrocarbon group, m represents an integer of 0 or more, and R 3 represents a hydrogen atom, a vinyl group, a thiiran-2-ylmethyl group, or a glycidyl group, both W 1 and W 2 do not have a hydrogen atom as R 3 , a ring Y 1 and a ring Y 2 represent the same or different aromatic hydrocarbon rings, R represents a single bond, an optionally substituted methylene group, an ethylene group which is optionally substituted and contain a heteroatom between two carbon atoms, a group represented by —O—, a group represented by —NH—, or a group represented by —S—, R 3a and R 3b independently represent a cyano group, a halogen atom, or a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and n1 and n2 independently represent an integer of 0 or more and 4 or less: wherein, in the formula (b1), R b1 , R b2 , and R b3 each independently is an alkyl group having 1 or more and 6 or less carbon atoms. 2. The curable composition according to claim 1 , wherein the anion moiety is (C 6 F 5 ) 4 B − . 3. The curable composition according to claim 1 , further comprising: (C) a photocationic polymerization initiator. 4.
