What is claimed is: 1. A lifter for a laundry treating apparatus, the lifter comprising: a lifter base to be coupled to an inner side of a drum extending along an axial direction; and a lifter top mounted on the lifter base, wherein the lifter base includes: a plurality of hooks provided along an inner circumference of the lifter base, and at least part of each hook contacts an outer surface of the drum such that the lifter base contacts the inner surface of the drum when inserted into a first region of a fastening hole of the drum and then slid in a first direction into a second region of the fastening hole; and at least one shield provided at an inner side of the lifter base and including a planar surface configured to completely cover the first region of the fastening hole when at least one hook adjacent to the at least one shield is inserted into the first region of the fastening hole and then slid in the first direction into the second region of the fastening hole, and wherein the at least one shield extends in the first direction from a first lateral end of one of the plurality of hooks such that a length of the at least one shield in the first direction is equal to or greater than a length of the first region of the fastening hole in the first direction, and extends from the inner circumference of the lifter base in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. 2. The lifter of claim 1 , wherein the at least one shield is formed at a first side of the lifter base corresponding to a rotational direction of the drum to prevent washing water from being discharged through the corresponding fastening hole. 3. The lifter of claim 2 , wherein a plurality of shields is spaced apart along only the first side of the lifter base. 4. The lifter of claim 2 , wherein a second side of the lifter base is configured to cover only part of the fastening hole when one of the plurality of hooks is inserted into the fastening hole and then slid in the first direction to allow the introduction of washing water. 5. The lifter of claim 1 , wherein the lifter base includes a washing water inlet overlapping with part of a hole formed on the drum to introduce washing water into the lifter. 6. The lifter of claim 5 , wherein the washing water inlet includes a plurality of washing water inlet holes separated from one another along the first direction in parallel to a rotational axis of the washer drum. 7. The lifter of claim 1 , wherein the lifter top includes: a body extending toward the center of the drum to accommodate washing water therein; and a plurality of tabs located along a lower circumference of the body. 8. The lifter of claim 7 , further comprising a plurality of mounting holes formed on the lifter base and into which the plurality of tabs are inserted to couple the lifter top to the lifter base. 9. The lifter of claim 8 , wherein a tab of the lifter top is inserted into a mounting hole of the lifter base and the tab is bent to secure the lifter base to the lifter top. 10. The lifter of claim 7 , wherein the lifter top includes a plurality of washing water discharge holes located at an upper portion of the body and formed along the first direction to discharge washing water having been received in the body from an outside of the drum. 11. The lifter of claim 1 , wherein a screw insertion hole is formed at one side of the lifter base to fix the lifter base to the inner surface of the drum by screw fastening. 12. The lifter of claim 1 , wherein the lifter base is formed of plastic, and the lifter top is formed of stainless steel. 13. A lifter for a laundry treating apparatus, the lifter comprising: a lifter base to be coupled to an inner side of a drum extending in an axial direction; and a lifter top mounted on the lifter base, wherein the lifter base includes: a plurality of hooks formed along a first lateral side and a second lateral side of the lifter base, the plurality of hooks being configured to latch the lifter base to an inner surface of the drum when inserted into first regions of corresponding coupling holes of the drum and slid in a first direction into second regions of the coupling holes; and a plurality of tabs formed only at the first lateral side of the lifter base and protruding from first lateral ends of a subset the plurality of hooks at the first lateral side in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, each of the tabs including a planar surface that is positioned to completely cover the first regions of the subset of the coupling holes when the plurality of hooks are inserted into the first regions of the plurality of coupling holes and then slid in the first direction into the second regions. 14. The lifter of claim 13 , wherein the first lateral side of the lifter base is a rear side with respect to a rotation direction of the drum. 15. The lifter of claim 13 , wherein the lifter base includes a washing water inlet including a plurality of washing water inlet holes spaced apart along a bottom surface of the lifter base. 16. The lifter of claim 13 , wherein the lifter top includes a plurality of tabs configured to be inserted into a plurality of mounting holes formed at the lifter base to secure the lifter top to the lifter base. 17. The lifter of claim 13 , wherein the lifter top includes a plurality of washing water discharge holes facing the center of the drum to discharge washing water from within the lifter to the drum. 18. The lifter of claim 1 , wherein the at least one shield protrudes further inward from an outer circumferential edge of the lifter base than the plurality of hooks, and wherein the at least one shield is provided on only one side of one of the plurality of hooks. 19. The lifter of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of tabs protrudes further inward from an outer circumferential edge of the lifter base than the plurality of hooks.
