In an approach for utilizing photographic metadata for automated photographic setup, a computer receives photographic metadata. The photographic metadata is contained within an image file. The computer transmits configuration information to one or more photographic devices in a photographic setup. The configuration information is based on the photographic metadata. The computer receives a configuration update from the one or more photographic devices in the photographic setup. The computer determines whether the one or more photographic devices in the photographic setup are configured correctly, based on at least comparing the configuration update to the photographic metadata.

What is claimed is: 1. A method for collecting and storing photographic metadata, the method comprising: receiving photographic metadata including information regarding a location and configuration information of each of a plurality of photographic devices in a photographic setup for photographing a subject; determining a current location of the plurality of photographic devices by using triangulation based on light from at least one photographic device of the plurality of photographic devices; determining whether the current location of the plurality of photographic devices matches the location included in the photographic metadata; transmitting the configuration information to a plurality of photographic devices based on determining that the current location of the plurality of photographic devices matches the location included in the photographic metadata; applying settings to the plurality of photographic devices based on transmitting the configuration information, wherein the settings are based on the photographic metadata; receiving a configuration update from the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup; determining whether the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are configured correctly, based on at least comparing the configuration update to the photographic metadata; modifying the settings based on determining the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are not configured correctly; outputting an alert indicating that the current location of the plurality of photographic devices does not match the location included in the photographic metadata based on determining that the current location of the plurality of photographic devices does not match the location included in the photographic metadata; determining if the subject is unavailable; using a proxy device as a proxy for the unavailable subject; and marking a position of the unavailable subject to allow for placement of the plurality of photographic devices relative to the unavailable subject for placement of illumination devices and scene modifiers relative to the unavailable subject. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of photographic devices includes the illumination devices and the scene modifiers. 3. The method of claim 1 , wherein photographic metadata includes one or more of placement position, direction, angle, manufacturer, model, zoom level, intensity, power, modifier type, gel color code, and gel transmissive index of the plurality of photographic devices. 4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: in response to determining the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are not configured correctly, alerting a user that the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are not configured correctly; and displaying to the user a correct configuration for the plurality of photographic devices that are not configured correctly. 5. The method of claim 4 , wherein alerting the user further comprises the computer signaling the user with a visible or audible cue. 6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: determining the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are configured correctly; receiving a final configuration update; and storing the final configuration. 7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the modifying the settings is performed automatically. 8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying a map of the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup, wherein the map identifies settings for a powered-on status, a location status, and a configuration status, and the plurality of photographic devices include at least one illumination device and at least one scene modifier, the at least one illumination device is adjusted automatically by adjusting an intensity of the at least one illumination device, the at least one illumination device and the at least one scene modifier are adjusted within a predefined tolerance to match photographic metadata settings for the powered-on status, the location status, and the configuration status of the photographic metadata when the settings for the powered-on status, the location status, and the configuration status do not match the photographic metadata settings for the powered-on status, the location status, and the configuration status of the photographic metadata. 9. A computer system for collecting and storing photographic metadata, the computer system comprising: one or more computer processors; one or more computer-readable storage devices; program instructions stored on the one or more computer-readable storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors, the program instructions comprising: program instructions to receive photographic metadata including information regarding a location and configuration information of each of a plurality of photographic devices in a photographic setup for photographing a subject; program instructions to determine a current location of the plurality of photographic devices by using triangulation based on light from one of the plurality of photographic devices; program instructions to determine whether the current location of the plurality of photographic devices matches the location included in the photographic metadata; program instructions to transmit configuration information to plurality of photographic devices based on determining that the current location of the plurality of photographic devices matches the location included in the photographic metadata; program instructions to apply settings to the plurality of photographic devices based on transmitting the configuration information, wherein the settings are based on the photographic metadata; program instructions to receive a configuration update from the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup; program instructions to determine whether the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are configured correctly, based on at least comparing the configuration update to the photographic metadata; program instructions to modify the settings based on determining the plurality of photographic devices in the photographic setup are not configured correctly; program instructions to output an alert indicating that the current location of the plurality of photographic devices does not match the location included in the photographic metadata based on determining that the current location of the plurality of photographic devices does not match the location included in the photographic metadata; program instructions to determine if the subject is unavailable; program instructions to use a proxy device as a proxy for the unavailable subject; and program instructions for the proxy device to mark a position of the unavailable subject to allow for placement of the plurality of photographic devices relative to the unavailable subject program instructions to mark a position of the unavailable subject to allow for placement of the plurality of photographic devices relative to the unavailable subject for placement of illumination devices and scene modifiers relative to the unavailable subject. 10. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of photographic devices include the illumination devices and the scene modifiers. 11. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein photographic metadata includes one or more of placement position, direction, angle, manufacturer, model, zoom level, intensity, power, modifier type, gel color code, and gel transmissive index of the plurality of photographic devices. 12. The computer system of claim 9 , further
