What is claimed is: 1. A ubiquitin variant (Ubv) polypeptide that binds to NEDD4L, wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:9-12. 2. A Ubv polypeptide that binds to SMURF2 (S2), wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence that is at least 90% identical to a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:18-22. 3. The Ubv polypeptide of claim 2 , wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:18-22. 4. A Ubv polypeptide that binds to HACE1 (HA), wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence that is at least 90% identical to a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:54-56. 5. The Ubv polypeptide of claim 4 , wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:54-56. 6. A Ubv polypeptide that binds to WWP2 (P2), wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence that is at least 90% identical to a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:27-30. 7. The Ubv polypeptide of claim 6 , wherein the sequence of said Ubv polypeptide comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:27-30.
