The invention claimed is: 1. A process for preparation of one or more compounds of formula 1 wherein R 2 is an alkyl, aromatic, or heterocyclic group, R 3 is phenyl substituted at 2- and 6-positions with substituents independently selected from the group consisting of C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 haloalkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, nitro, nitrile, and halogen, by conversion of one or more compounds of formula 4 in which R 2 and R 3 have the above mentioned meanings, into one or more compounds of formula 1, wherein the conversion is effected in the presence of an activating agent, and wherein the activating agent is selected from the group consisting of NaOH, HCl, Cu(OAc) 2 , and MeSO 3 H. 2. The process according to claim 1 , wherein R 2 is 2-CF 3 Ph, and R 3 is 2,6-F 2 Ph. 3. The process according to claim 1 , wherein R 3 is phenyl independently substituted at 2- and 6-positions with halogen. 4. The process according to claim 1 , wherein R 3 is 2,6-F 2 Ph. 5. The process according to claim 1 , wherein R 2 is an aromatic group. 6. The process according to claim 1 , wherein R 2 is 2-CF 3 Ph. 7. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the activating agent is NaOH. 8. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the activating agent is HCl. 9. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the activating agent is Cu(OAc) 2 . 10. The process according to claim 1 , wherein the activating agent is MeSO 3 H.
