The invention claimed is: 1. An electronic module comprising: a circuit board comprising a plurality of conductive pads and a sense pad coupled to an output signal; an actuator having a wiper member accommodating a conductive wiper, the wiper having a first end arranged to slidably engage the sense pad and a second end arranged to slidably engage at least one of the plurality of conductive pads; and at least one gap disposed to partition the sense pad into a plurality of segments along an axial movement path of the conductive wiper, the plurality of segments being electrically connected to each other to have the same electric potential. 2. The electronic module of claim 1 , wherein the at least one gap is linear and disposed at an angle with respect to the axial movement path of the conductive wiper. 3. The electronic module of claim 1 , wherein the sense pad is printed on the circuit board as a metal layer with the at least one gap exposing the circuit board. 4. The electronic module of claim 1 , wherein the sense pad comprises at least one axial boundary portion disposed substantially in parallel to the axial movement path of the conductive wiper, and the at least one gap extends laterally from the at least one axial boundary portion such that the plurality of segments are electrically connected to each other via the at least one axial boundary portions. 5. The electronic module of claim 1 , wherein a width of each of the plurality of segments along the axial movement path of the conductive wiper is less than a distance between the sense pad and the plurality of conductive pads. 6. The electronic module of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of conductive pads comprise an end pad disposed at a distal end of the plurality of conductive pads closest to the sense pad. 7. The electronic module of claim 6 , wherein a width of each of the plurality of segments along the axial movement path of the conductive wiper is less than a distance between the end pad and an adjacent one of the plurality of conductive pads. 8. The electronic module of claim 6 , wherein the end pad is segmented to a plurality of end pad segments via at least one end pad gap disposed along the axial movement path of the conductive wiper. 9. The electronic module of claim 6 , wherein a width of each of the plurality of segments and/or the plurality of end pad segments along the axial movement path of the conductive wiper is less than a distance between the end pad and an adjacent ones of the plurality of conductive pads. 10. The electronic module of claim 1 , wherein the sense pad is disposed in line with the plurality of conductive pads. 11. A power tool comprising: a housing; a motor disposed in the housing; and an electronic module according to claim 1 disposed within the housing, the electronic module configured to provide a signal indicative of a target speed of the motor. 12. A power tool comprising: a housing; a motor disposed in the housing; and an electronic module according to claim 11 disposed within the housing, the electronic module configured to provide a signal indicative of a target speed of the motor. 13.
