Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Metering device for an agricultural implement are present for applying a field input, for example, pneumatically delivered granular product including seed or fertilizer or sprayed liquid product including fertilizer and the like, to an agricultural field. In the applying of the field input, the rate of application of the dispensers of one section of the implement can be collectively varied in relation to the rate of application of the dispensers of a different section of the implement frame.

The invention claimed is: 1. An implement for applying at least one agricultural product fluid to an agricultural field comprising: an implement frame including a plurality of designated frame sections including at least two frame sections; wherein each designated frame section includes: a plurality of product dispensers, at least one fluid delivery line in communication with the plurality of product dispensers, the fluid delivery line configured to convey the at least one agricultural product fluid to the plurality of product dispensers, a flow rate sensor along the fluid delivery line and in communication with the flow rate sensor, the flow rate sensor configured to measure the flow rate of the at least one agricultural product fluid to the plurality of product dispensers, and a metering device along the fluid delivery line, the metering device configured to control the flow rate of the at least one agricultural product fluid to the plurality of product dispensers; and an agricultural product supply configured for storing the at least one agricultural product fluid, the agricultural product supply in communication with the plurality of product dispensers of each of the designated frame sections with the respective fluid delivery line of each designated frame section. 2. The implement of claim 1 , wherein the agricultural product fluid includes a product fluid mixed with a carrier fluid, and the agricultural product supply includes: a carrier supply configured to store the carrier fluid, the carrier supply in communication with the plurality of product dispensers with the at least one fluid delivery line, and a product supply configured to store the product fluid, the product supply in communication with the plurality of product dispensers with the at least one fluid delivery line. 3. The implement of claim 2 , wherein one or more metering devices of respective designated frame sections are configured to independently control the flow rate of the product fluid relative to the metering devices of the other designated frame sections. 4. The implement of claim 2 , wherein one or more metering devices of respective designated frame sections are configured to independently control the concentration of the product fluid in the carrier fluid relative to the metering devices of the other designated frame sections. 5. The implement of claim 1 , wherein each metering device of each designated frame section is configured to independently control the flow rate of the agricultural product fluid relative to the metering devices of the other designated frame sections. 6. The implement of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of designated frame sections includes at least two or more designated frame sections. 7. The implement of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of designated frame sections includes at least center, one or more left and one or more right designated frame sections. 8. The implement of claim 1 comprising a metering pump interposed between the agricultural product supply and the plurality of product dispensers of each of the designated frame sections, the metering pump configured to pump the at least one agricultural product fluid through the at least one fluid delivery lines of each of the designated frame sections. 9. The implement of claim 1 , wherein one or more metering devices of respective designated frame sections are configured for operation independent to other metering devices of the other designated frame sections of the plurality of designated frame sections. 10. The implement of claim 1 , wherein one or more metering devices of respective designated frame sections are configured for independently metering the flow of the agricultural product fluid relative to other metering devices of the other designated frame sections of the plurality of designated frame sections based on variations in speed of each of the designated frame sections. 11. The implement of claim 10 comprising at least one speed sensor in communication with the one or more metering devices, the at least one speed sensor configured to determine the speed of the respective designated frame sections associated with the one or more metering devices. 12. The implement of claim 1 , wherein the metering device includes a throttling valve. 13. The implement of claim 1 , wherein the metering device includes a pressure reducing valve, a three way valve or a restricted orifice. 14. An implement for applying at least one agricultural product fluid to an agricultural field comprising: an agricultural product supply configured for storing the at least one agricultural product fluid; a plurality of designated frame sections including at least two frame sections, wherein each designated frame section includes: at least one product dispenser configured to apply the at least one agricultural product fluid, a fluid delivery line extending between the agricultural product supply and the at least one product dispenser, the fluid delivery line configured to convey the at least one agricultural product fluid to the at least one product dispenser, a flow rate sensor along the fluid delivery line, the flow rate sensor configured to measure the flow rate of the at least one agricultural product fluid to the at least one product dispenser, and a metering device along the fluid delivery line and in communication with the flow rate sensor, the metering device configured to control the flow rate of the at least one agricultural product fluid to the at least one product dispenser; and wherein one or more metering devices of respective designated frame sections are configured for independent control of respective flow rates relative to other metering devices of other designated frame sections of the plurality of designated frame sections. 15. The implement of claim 14 , wherein the one or more metering devices of the respective designated frame sections are configured for independent control of the respective flow rates of the agricultural product fluid relative to the other metering devices of the other designated frame sections based on variations in speed of each of the respective designated frame sections. 16. The implement of claim 15 comprising at least one speed sensor in communication with the one or more metering devices, the at least one speed sensor configured to determine the speed of the respective designated frame sections associated with the one or more metering devices. 17. The implement of claim 14 , wherein the at least one product dispenser includes a plurality of product dispensers. 18. The implement of claim 14 , wherein the metering device includes a throttling valve. 19. The implement of claim 14 , wherein the metering device includes a pressure reducing valve, a three way valve or a restricted orifice. 20. The implement of claim 19 , wherein the agricultural product fluid includes a product fluid mixed with a carrier fluid, and the agricultural product supply includes: a carrier supply configured to store the carrier fluid, the carrier supply in communication with the at least one product dispenser with the fluid delivery line, and a product supply configured to store the product fluid, the product supply in communication with the at least one product dispenser with the fluid delivery line. 21. The implement of claim 20 , wherein the one or more metering devices of the respective designated frame sections are configured to independently control the flow rate of the product fluid relative to the other metering devices o
