The invention claimed is: 1. A bed articulation system comprising: a split headboard comprising a first-side and a second-side, wherein split headboard is configured such that the first-side and the second-side are adjustably independent of each other; a split footboard, the split footboard having a first-side and a second-side, wherein the split footboard is configured such that the first-side and the second-side are adjustably independent of each other; one or more adjustment mechanisms positioned and configured for actuating the first-side and second-side of the split headboard and the first-side and second-side of the split footboard; a controller comprising a processor and memory, the controller configured to control the one or more adjustment mechanisms for adjustment of the first-side of the split headboard, the second-side of the split headboard, the first-side of the split footboard, and the second-side of the split footboard; and a configuration switch having a plurality of settings; wherein: with the configuration switch in a first setting, the controller is configured to adjust the first-side of the split headboard independent of the second-side of the split headboard and to adjust the first-side of the split footboard independent of the second-side of the split footboard; and with the configuration switch in a second setting, the controller is configured to adjust the first-side of the split headboard in coordination with the second-side of the split headboard and to adjust the first-side of the split footboard in coordination with the second-side of the split footboard. 2. The bed articulation system of claim 1 , wherein the controller comprises the configuration switch. 3. The bed articulation system of claim 1 , further comprising a remote control comprising the configuration switch. 4. The bed articulation system of claim 3 , wherein the remote control is a mobile phone. 5. The bed articulation system of claim 1 , wherein a first motor drives the first-side of the split headboard, a second motor drives the second-side of the split headboard, a third motor drives the first-side of the split footboard, and a fourth motor drives the second-side of the split footboard; and wherein to control adjustments of the first-side of the split headboard, the second-side of the split headboard, the first-side of the split footboard, and the second-side of the split footboard, the controller is configured to send commands to engage the first motor, the second motor, the third motor, and the fourth motor. 6. The bed articulation system of claim 1 , wherein the controller is further configured to: operate in an initial configuration time and in a separate operation time after the initial configuration time; receive, in the initial configuration time, an input indicating a type of available types of a mattress or mattresses on the bed articulation system, wherein at least one available type is a mattress spanning both the first-side and the second-side of the split headboard; store, in a computer-readable memory during the initial configuration time, a logic level representing the received input, responsive to receiving the input; access, in the separate operation time after the initial configuration time, the logic level from the computer-readable memory; generate, based on the accessed logic level, control signals that when cause adjustment of the first-side of the split headboard, the second-side of the split headboard, the first-side of the split footboard, and the second-side of the split footboard; and output the control signals in the separate operation time after the initial configuration time. 7. A bed articulation system comprising: a split headboard comprising a first-side and a second-side, wherein split headboard is configured such that the first-side and the second-side are adjustably independent of each other; a split footboard, the split footboard having a first-side and a second-side, wherein the split footboard is configured such that the first-side and the second-side are adjustably independent of each other; adjustment means for actuating the first-side and second-side of the split headboard and the first-side and second-side of the split footboard; a controller configured to control the adjustment means for adjustment of the first-side of the split headboard, the second-side of the split headboard, the first-side of the split footboard, and the second-side of the split footboard; and a configuration switch having a plurality of settings; wherein: with the configuration switch in a first setting, the controller is configured to adjust the first-side of the split headboard independent of the second-side of the split headboard and to adjust the first-side of the split footboard independent of the second-side of the split footboard; and with the configuration switch in a second setting, the controller is configured to adjust the first-side of the split headboard in coordination with the second-side of the split headboard and to adjust the first-side of the split footboard in coordination with the second-side of the split footboard. 8. The bed articulation system of claim 7 , wherein the controller comprises the configuration switch. 9. The bed articulation system of claim 7 , further comprising a remote control comprising the configuration switch. 10. The bed articulation system of claim 9 , wherein the remote control is a mobile phone. 11. The bed articulation system of claim 7 , wherein a first motor drives the first-side of the split headboard, a second motor drives the second-side of the split headboard, a third motor drives the first-side of the split footboard, and a fourth motor drives the second-side of the split footboard; and wherein to control adjustments of the first-side of the split headboard, the second-side of the split headboard, the first-side of the split footboard, and the second-side of the split footboard, the controller is configured to send commands to engage the first motor, the second motor, the third motor, and the fourth motor. 12. The bed articulation system of claim 7 , wherein the controller is further configured to: operate in an initial configuration time and in a separate operation time after the initial configuration time; receive, in the initial configuration time, an input indicating a type of available types of a mattress or mattresses on the bed articulation system, wherein at least one available type is a mattress spanning both the first-side and the second-side of the split headboard; store, in a computer-readable memory during the initial configuration time, a logic level representing the received input, responsive to receiving the input; access, in the separate operation time after the initial configuration time, the logic level from the computer-readable memory; generate, based on the accessed logic level, control signals that when cause adjustment of the first-side of the split headboard, the second-side of the split headboard, the first-side of the split footboard, and the second-side of the split footboard; and output the control signals in the separate operation time after the initial configuration time. 13. An adjustable bed system comprising: first and second adjustable foundations; at least one first motor to adjust the first adjustable foundation; at least one second motor to adjust the second adjustable foundation; and a central controller comprising a processor and configured to: operate in an initial configuration time and in a separate operation time after the initial configuration time; receive, in the initial configuration time, an input ind
