Oral formulations of benzofuran compounds which modulate cannabinoid receptors are presented. Methods of using these formulations for treatment of cannabinoid receptor-mediated disease, including neuropathic pain and addition, are also described.

What is claimed is: 1. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier suitable for oral administration and the compound wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable carrier is a hydroxypropyl methylcellulose acetate succinate subtype M (HPMCAS-M) spray-dried dispersion, and wherein the compound is 25% (wt) of the pharmaceutical composition. 2. A method of treating neuropathic pain in a subject, said method comprising administering to the subject in need of such treatment, a therapeutically-effective amount of the pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1 .
