In accordance with presently disclosed embodiments, systems and methods for efficiently managing bulk material are provided. The disclosure is directed to a portable support structure used to receive one or more portable containers of bulk material and output bulk material from the containers directly into the blender hopper. The portable support structure may include a frame for receiving and holding the one or more portable bulk material containers in an elevated position proximate the blender hopper, as well as one or more gravity feed outlets for routing the bulk material from the containers directly into the blender hopper. In some embodiments, the portable support structure may be transported to the well site on a trailer, unloaded from the trailer, and positioned proximate the blender unit. In other embodiments, the portable support structure may be a mobile support structure that is integrated into a trailer unit.

What is claimed is: 1. A system, comprising: a portable support structure for holding at least one portable container of bulk material at a position proximate a blender inlet, wherein the support structure comprises: a frame for receiving and holding the at least one portable container thereon; a first gravity feed outlet positioned within the frame for routing the bulk material from the at least one portable container directly into the blender inlet; a locator feature disposed on the frame, wherein the locator feature is disposed proximate an upper face of the frame to receive a corresponding engagement feature of the at least one portable container of bulk material; and a gate actuator proximate the upper face of the frame above the first gravity feed outlet for selectively actuating a discharge gate of the at least one portable container, wherein the gate actuator is separate from the discharge gate of the at least one portable container. 2. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a blender having the blender inlet and a mixing compartment for mixing the bulk material with additives to generate a treatment fluid, wherein the gravity feed outlet is removably disposed over the blender inlet of the blender. 3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the support structure comprises: the frame for receiving and holding a plurality of portable containers of bulk material comprising the at least one portable container of bulk material; and a plurality of gravity feed outlets comprising the first gravity feed outlet, wherein the plurality of gravity feed outlets are positioned within the frame, each of the plurality of gravity feed outlets being positioned to route the bulk material from a corresponding one of the plurality of portable containers directly into the blender inlet. 4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the portable support structure is transportable on a trailer and comprises at least one of a forklift slot or a lifting eye for interfacing with a hoisting mechanism. 5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the portable support structure is integrated into a trailer unit. 6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the portable support structure further comprises a hopper disposed proximate the upper face of the frame, wherein the hopper directs bulk material into the first gravity feed outlet. 7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the portable support structure further comprises a plurality of load cells disposed on the frame. 8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises a plurality of beams connected together to form a continuous group of cubic or rectangular shaped supports coupled end to end. 9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the locator feature is disposed on a first one of the cubic or rectangular shaped supports. 10. The system of claim 9 , further comprising: another locator feature disposed on a second one of the cubic or rectangular shaped supports; and a second gravity feed outlet positioned within the frame, wherein: the first gravity feed outlet extends downward from the first one of the cubic or rectangular shaped supports; and the second gravity feed outlet extends downward from the second one of the cubic or rectangular shaped supports. 11. The system of claim 1 , further comprising: an indicator comprising a light disposed on the frame; and a controller communicatively coupled to the gate actuator, wherein the controller sends control signals to operate the gate actuator for opening or closing the discharge gate of the at least one portable container, and wherein the light indicates whether the discharge gate of the at least one portable container is open or closed. 12. The system of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of locator features including the locator feature, each of the plurality of locator features being disposed proximate the upper face of the frame. 13. The system of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of locator features comprises four locator features, each of the four locator features being disposed proximate the upper face of the frame. 14. The system of claim 1 , wherein the locator feature comprises an angled surface sloping upward toward a tip at a midpoint of the locator feature. 15. The system of claim 1 , wherein the locator feature is disposed proximate one of four corners of the upper surface of the frame. 16. The system of claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises: four corner supports extending upward to an elevated position above the blender inlet; and four walls or beams extending between adjacent upper corners of the four corner supports, wherein the four walls or beams define at least a portion of the upper face of the frame. 17. The system of claim 16 , wherein the frame further comprises: a first pair of additional corner supports located on a first side of the four corner supports and extending upward to the elevated position above the blender inlet; and a first set of three walls or beams extending between adjacent upper corners of two of the four corner supports and the first pair of additional corners supports to define a second portion of the upper face of the frame, the second portion being sized to receive a second portable container thereon. 18. The system of claim 17 , wherein the frame further comprises: a second pair of additional corner supports located on a second side of the four corner supports opposite the first side and extending upward to the elevated position above the blender inlet; and a second set of three walls or beams extending between adjacent upper corners of the other two of the four corner supports and the second pair of additional corner supports to define a third portion of the upper face of the frame, the third portion being configured to receive a third portable container thereon. 19. The system of claim 1 , further comprising the bulk material container, wherein the bulk material container is an entirely separate component from the support structure and comprises the discharge gate. 20. The system of claim 1 , wherein the first gravity feed outlet is entirely separate from the portable container of bulk material. 21. The system of claim 1 , wherein the gate actuator is a physical component that is selectively moved into engagement with the discharge gate to actuate the discharge gate of the at least one portable container.
